Where did the IPv6 option go in the EAP690E HDs?  I swear it was there, or am I on something?  I am on the 5.14 Controller Beta...

@Hank21 , any insight?  I found this older thread:

Where is seems to indicate it is fixed in 1.0.3, so...

Hi @W38122077

Do you have the Omada gateway to transmit the IPv6 traffic? If you have configured the IPv6 on WAN and LAN setting, you will find the IPv6 address of EAP.

If rather, do you remember that when you used the previous controller to manage the EAP, did you have any advanced setting for EAP or for gateway(if any)? We may need your help to confirm the topology and the setting on your controller.

Sorry for the delayed response.

I do not use an omada gateway, but my gateway is IPv6 enabled and my other EAPs (773, 670, 650-outdoor) all get an IPv6 assignment.  The thing with the 690s, is that on their Config/IP Settings tab there isn't even the IPv6 enable check box.

Hi @W38122077

Could you please try to forget/reset this EAP and re-adopt it? Please let us know the result after the re-adoption.

Besides, may I confirm whether your other EAP and the EAP690E HD are under the same network environment? If not, please consider replacing the EAP690E HD and the other EAP to make the comparison. Thanks.

forgot device then also reset via physical button.  No IPv6 option under IP Settings.  Is there a specific firmware version I should try?

Hi @W38122077

Could you go to the overview page of the EAP690E HD and see whether there is an IPv6 address on it? The IPv6 option might not affect the EAP690E HD to get the IPv6 address nor affect the data transmission.

I just saw the the 690 is already listed as EoL?  Will it be getting IPv6 support?  Will the last beta firmware ever make it to public?

Hi @W38122077

I have not been informed about the plan of supporting IPv6 on EAP690E HD currently. I will forward the request about the EAP690E HD update.

And may I double confirm whether the EAP690E HD is still transmitting the IPv6 data or not? The other wireless client devices connecting to the EAP690E HD, are they getting the IPv6 address?

No, they do not appear to be getting one if they connect there first, but if they had one and roamed things were breaking.  I have ended up turning off IPv6 to prevent the issue.

Honestly the fact they end of lifed it so soon is a slap to the face. I purchased two of these units at a significant price. Have a full Omada 10 gig setup, as I have fibre 8/8 symmetrical.

I am looking to drop all of TP links products, the disconnect between controller versions and when firmwares are available for devices to support the features is disturbing. Basic features like mini jumbo frames for PPPoe not being supported on 8411.

But to EOL a flag ship access point with no new HD access point available and not have it up to date to even the current controller software version is honestly pathetic. $750 Canadian a piece thrown down the drain on your flag ship access point and no software support received other than a beta firmware pathetic
