Hi guys,

Tonight we found a really strange issue with a TP-Link TL-SG3210 Switch.

http://www.tp-link.com/eg/products/d...odel=TL-SG3210

This switch is used in a hotspot. We use Ubiquiti gear to reach remote buildings on the hotspot.

The hotspot has 3 Ubiquiti Rocket M5's with sectors on a mast attached to a building in the center of the site, each sector has 2 clients attached to it (NanoStation M5's around 400meters away from the center). The sectors are in a 360 degree arrangement.

It has been running for quite some time providing clients in the remote locations with a good 20/20Mbps service.

We recently upgraded the Rocket M5s to Titanium M5s. As soon as we did this throughput at the client locations dropped to between 2 - 5Mbps even with no one using the network.

When we ran speedtests from the NanoStations to the sectors we saw speeds around 150Mbps - 180Mbps.

The site is fed with a 100/100 leased line. This is delivered with a 1Gbps 70GHz link into a 300Mbps 5GHz link.

Then locally the bandwidth is delivered using the UBNT gear.

We eventually found that if we install a completely random un-managed switch (£10 from amazon), the problem dissapears and when plugged into the remote switches we happily pull 60Mbps and when connected to the hotspot were back to our 20/20Mbps happiness, however when the TP-Link TL-SG3210 is plugged in, we have speed issues.

I have a feeling this is something to do with 3 ports running a 1Gbps on the switch whilst the rest are running a 100Mbps. Perhaps this switch doesn't link the mix and match?

The switch is set to auto detect what each port is doing and picks everything up correctly.

We have a stack of these TP-Links on a shelf and have tried 3 brand new switches, everyone provided the exact same result.

For now we are running the £10 switch until a new switch comes in.

Has anyone else ever encountered an issue like this?

Thanks guys.

never encountered this kind of issue.
I think you can try to contact the technical support for help.
