Region : Austria

Model : TL-R600VPN

Hardware Version : V1

Firmware Version :

ISP :

I am a complete newbie when it comes to networking so bear with me.

I have successfully completed the basic setup of my new TP-600VPN router, which is connected to a Netgear WNR2000 router. Now I am trying to set up a PPTP VPN connection..What I want to do is connect an internet-enabled (Sony) TV and an Apple TV to the VPN router. I have one account with my VPN provider which gives access to a number of VPN servers in a variety of countries .

The internet-enabled TV and Apple TV devices each need to connect with different VPN servers. I have entered my account (user name) and password information but I can see nowhere in the router setup to specify the IP address of the VPN server I wish each device to connect to.

Grateful for any guidance

I want to see if you are able to connect as client of you VPN provider ( can you let me know the name of your provider ?)
I haven't purchased the unit and want to see if this unit doable
see my previous thread
http://forum.tp-link.com/showthread.php?2153-Can-I-use-TL-R600VPN-as-VPN-client-for-Public-VPN-Provider-%28PPTP-or-L2TP%29&region=china

the performance of other routers (such DD-WRT compatible) are slow for your application same as my aplication
as far as I know this unit support L2TP/Russian L2TP, and PPTP/Russian PPTP
those are Protocol you can use depend on provider you are using and they are sometime using their additional custom encryption.

I might able to help you to setup
see

page 21 and page 22

I really want to try this unit compatibility and performance .

Hope you post your result after you have success

I sent a request to technical support a few days ago. No response as yet but I will keep you posted. I fear that the TL-600VPN cannot be used as a VPN client. If that is true, then I have wasted my money!
