Dear @malda,

I've got the same issue with TL-SG1024DE 3.0, FW 1.0.1 Build 20180629 Rel.58591. After some time (days to weeks), DHCP for cable clients connected into this switch stops working. Reboot from web mgmt does not solve the issue, only unplugging the switch from electricity.

Here is a beta firmware that may fix the issue. If you are willing to try it, follow the link below to download the beta firmware for upgrading.

Note: copy the whole link below and paste in the address bar of your web browser for downloading

For TL-SG1024DE 3.0:

https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202012/20201222/TL-SG1024DEv3_en_1.0.1_%5b20201218-rel49852(Beta)%5d_up.rar

For TL-SG1016DE 3.0:

https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202011/20201111/TL-SG1016DEv3_en_1.0.1_%5b20201110-rel40807(Beta)%5d_up.rar

For TL-SG1016PE 1.0:

https://static.tp-link.com/beta/2021/202101/20210119/TL-SG1016PEv1_en_1.0.1_%5b20210114-rel37936%5d_up.zip

Edit: add beta firmware for TL-SG1016DE 3.0, TL-SG1016PE 1.0. It can be downgraded if the beta firmware doesn't help.

We'd encourage you to give us feedback on the case so that we can be confident of the solution here. Thank you!

Dear @Fae,

thank you for your message. I can try it; just to be sure - in case of any problems, is it possible to downgrade to actual FW version?

Thank you & best regards,

Jan

I'm experiencing issues when using static IP addresses as well, so don't think this is necessarily a DHCP issue. Didn't get a chance to do the Port mirroring / Wireshark capture method yet, will update this thread when the issue happens again.

@Da_Gunny_USMC I dumped the switch and got two QNAP 2.5 GbE switches and no more problems plus more than twice the speed.

@Fae I am having the same issue with TL-SG1016DE 3.0. Can you please provide beta firmware for this model? Thanks!

It is currently on 1.0.1 Build 20180629 Rel.58355

Looks like it's not a DHCP issue, it's affecting clients with static IP addresses as well. I'll try to mitigate it by keeping the clients connected to the switch at all times by enabling WOL on client devices and other similar strategies, as I believe that worked in the past for me. Though the issue needs to be addressed by a software update if possible.

Im experiencing the same issue with TL-SG1024DE 3.0. Tried the beta software, but Im not even sure if it "upgraded", because the firmware version in system info stayed the same.

EDIT -

Tried downgrading to the oldest version I could find TL-SG1024DEv3_en_1.0.1_[20170530-rel39402]_up, but that didn't change the version shown in system information either.

EDIT 2 -

After pulling power it started showing the oldest version that i upgraded it to.

EDIT 3 -

After a bunch of resets, reboots and hard resets I managed to get the beta version installed. Hopefully this fixes the issue with DHCP.

As an update on my issue with TL-SG1024DE 3.0. It seems to me that the beta update did indeed fix my issue. Haven't had any trouble since I installed the beta firmware on 2021-05-29.
