You can try firmware recovery in this thread: https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/270472

@Somnus My network topology is like this.

Internet -> dlink 612  (ip 192.168.0.1) -> Omada Software Controller (192.168.0.3) -> dlink 615 (ip 192.168.100.1) -> Omada hardware controller (didnt get IP address.

Please suggest me if anything wrong.

Have you checked if the all the cable connections from dlink 612 to your OC200 are good? You can simplify your topology, connecting OC200 directly to dlink612 to test.

And you can remove all devices, just power on OC200, and then plug a computer to the other ethernet port of OC200, assign a static IP of 192.168.0.x to the computer, try to use 192.168.0.253 to access OC200. If it can't reach the page, ping OC200 to check connectivity.

BTW, how do you power on OC200? Try another power supply.

Hi @Somnus, thanks for replying.

Have you checked if the all the cable connections from dlink 612 to your OC200 are good? You can simplify your topology, connecting OC200 directly to dlink612 to test.

  • Yes i have check the cable. I have two cable using straight and cross. Both of it i have try to connect into eth2 port of Omada Controller

And you can remove all devices, just power on OC200, and then plug a computer to the other ethernet port of OC200, assign a static IP of 192.168.0.x to the computer, try to use 192.168.0.253 to access OC200. If it can't reach the page, ping OC200 to check connectivity.

  • For this one it successfully access the page and i have update firmware from this. After update firmware also i cannot access 192.168.0.253. After update then i connect my OC200 to my router dlink 615. But after that, my oc200 didn't get any ip from my dhcp router. Is it need specific router for my OC200? Any suggestion or experience will be helpful for me.

BTW, how do you power on OC200? Try another power supply.

  • I have change my power supply power 1A into 2A. Then it has no change. Still cannot get ip address for my oc200.

I have also tried connect only my oc200 into my dlink router with dhcp, then my oc200 still didn't get any ip address from my router. i check this with my laptop connect from wifi to my router.

I have also tried connect only my oc200 into my dlink router with static ip, i have change my laptop ip address into 192.168.0.100. like above i connect my laptop into my router using wifi. Still i cannot see any ip assign to my OC200.

I have also tried connect only my oc200 into my dlink router with static or dhcp ip. Then i connect my handphone and open application omada from my handphone but i still cannot get my oc200 there ( add from Controller - Local Access.

Please help me whoever experience with oc200. Because in tp link indonesia there's no reply from tplink support team.

Hi there,

1. The Omada Software Controller is an application on PC, and the Software Controller cannot work with the OC200 together, since the Omada devices will only be managed with one Controller.

2. As for the issue that cannot see the IP address of the OC200, I think it is normal that some router's DHCP list cannot find it. Lots of devices cannot be seen on my own router's page but they do have internet.

The first thing we need to do is to make sure the OC200 can get internet, the simple test is that we can connect the PC to the second port of OC and test internet.

3. The reason why you want to get the IP address of OC200, I think is trying to log in to the OC200's page to manage the Omada device.

In fact, the IP address is not the only way to do that, you can try to use the cloud website "https://omada.tplinkcloud.com/" to log in.

Meanwhile, you can see the OC200's IP address on this page. This is my screenshot.

4. As for the link https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/3028/, this article mentions that "Confirm that your phone has been connected with the Wi-Fi managed by the controller", this means you need to use the phone connect to the Access Point's WiFi name, also managed by OC200 already.

Wish the advice can help.

Dear @waldi.top,

After the firmware recovery, what are the LED indicators on your OC200?

Are the LEDs for ethernet ports still blinking even if there is no cable plugged into your OC200?

Are you trying to replace the software controller with the OC200?

If you have a PoE switch, you may use the PoE switch to power up the OC200 for a try.

Hi @John1234

On your second point. So eth1 connect into router and eth2 connect to my computer directly?

My experience on your third point. I can see that after I enable connect cloud from software controller. So my thought also I should enable from oc controller page first. Or is it different?

Hi @Fae

After firmware upgrade cloud indicator turn off then after a while it's blink on and off also for eth1 and eth2.

No I'm not trying to replace software controller. I'm trying this to implement oc200 on my other site of internet.

If I want to connect oc200 with my existing source of internet that has an ip 192.168.0.x/24. Then my other router connect to this router, what ip segment should I put there for dhcp so that my software controller and hardware controller can run both?

Appreciate your help.

It doesn't matter, we can run the Omada Software Controller and OC200 at the same time in the same IP segment.

The OC200 is just like a PC with the Omada Controller installed, basically, the OC200 will obtain an IP address automatically once it's connected to the DHCP server. If you cannot find the OC200 in the DHCP client list and try to reserve a static IP for the controller, please ensure that it's a unique IP address within the DHCP range.
