Hi,

 

I'm in the setup process for my office network and just noticed this problem:

The TL-SG1218MPE does not show up in the device list of the OC200 web admin portal. It works perfecly (it powers the OC200 and an EAP655 and connects them to the third-party-router, Internet connection is also fine), but I can't find it in the OC200 device list. I tried hitting the reset button several times (as suggested in the setup-video), but that didn't change anything.

 

The OC200 shows the EAP655 and a TL-SG2008 (that is connected to the TL-SG1218MPE), but the TL-SG1218MPE is not listed in the device list. Also, none of the clients attached to the TL-SG1218MPE (e.g. my mac via CAT7-cable) show up in the client list (if I use the same mac via WiFI, it shows up).

 

Did I miss anything?

Short answer is that the SG1218MPE is an easy smart switch and not an Omada SDN switch, it therefore cant be controlled via the OC200.

 

Easy Smart switches have basic VLANs, QOS, Management etc but cannot be fully integrated into the Omada SDN, they are sorta half way between an unmanaged and fully managed switch.

 

While it will work OK for you (traffic will flow etc) you wont be able to create SDN VLANs via it and it wont appear / show stats etc..

 

For record, most of the SDN enabled switches start 2xxx or higher  (SG2008 for example)

  @Philbert Aaaah, that makes sense :)

The SG1218MPE-website got me confused here, as it shows a web-based user interface (and I somehow though this was the OC200).
