Hi,

Is it possible to configure an access point (TP-Link EAP115 N300) to the same SSID as the internet providers routers SSID allowing users to connect to one or the other but still be on the same network?  Does this access point come configured to a reduced download speed, if so how is that restriction removed?

Thanks

Yes. You can set TP-Link EAP115 with the same SSID as your ISP router as a standalone access point.

Depending on your wireless devices, they will roam between the EAP115 or the ISP router in the same local network.

If this was helpful click once on the arrow pointing upward. If this solves your issue, click once the star to mark it as a "Recommended Solution".

Thank you. What settings do I need to change to achieve this? Currently the access point has different SSID log in which is causing some problems, for example, the wifi printer which is connected to router cannot be accessed when a wireless device is connected to the access point.

Even if its SSID is different, you should be able to reach any of your LAN devices when connected to the EAP-115.

For example:

If your ISP router IP address is 192.168.0.1 you can configure EAP-115 like this:

Thus the EAP-115 will be in your ISP router subnet and its IP address will be static for easy management access.

Its wireless SSID can be changed here:
