Hi,

I would like to buy a Vigi C540. But now I don't know what the WLAN on the C540W is for.

What do I need the WiFi on the Vigi C540W for? I can also control the C540 via the smartphone app, right?

For people who cannot run an Ethernet cable to the camera. So, they use WIFI to receive the signal and transmit the image.

If you don't need that, you can choose the non-WIFI version.
