Feature Request: Time-Based Control for Patrol Mode in TP-Link VIGI PTZ Cameras
I’m a user of your TP-Link VIGI PTZ camera (e.g., VIGI C540), and I appreciate the powerful features like Active Defense and Patrol Mode.
📌 Feature Request:
Please add time-based control for Patrol Mode, similar to what you already offer for Active Defense.
🧠 Current Challenge:
-
I’ve drawn detection boundaries inside my home where I want Active Defense (lights, alarm, notifications) to trigger.
-
Patrol Mode currently works 24/7 and moves the camera beyond these drawn zones, e.g., toward the road or outside areas.
-
Because of this, Active Defense becomes unreliable if Patrol is on — it may trigger falsely or miss real intrusions inside the home.
✅ Suggested Enhancement:
-
Allow users to schedule Patrol Mode, for example:
-
Patrol during the day (e.g., 6 AM to 6 PM),
-
Stay fixed at a defined “home” position at night (e.g., 6 PM to 6 AM),
-
-
This way, Active Defense remains effective at night when security is more critical.
You already offer timing for Active Defense — bringing the same scheduling to Patrol Mode would solve this conflict and make both features work together seamlessly.
Thanks for your support and continued improvements to the VIGI ecosystem.
