Hi  @Javito

Compared to indoor APs, the key advantage of outdoor APs is their significantly larger wireless coverage range, thanks to high-power RF design and weatherproof housing, ensuring stable signal performance in open environments.

Due to wireless regulations in your country, you currently cannot use outdoor 6G. We recommend considering the following alternatives:

  1. Dual-band outdoor AP (e.g., EAP610-Outdoor): Sacrifices 6GHz but retains outdoor deployment benefits.
  2. Indoor tri-band AP (e.g., EAP772): Fully supports 6GHz, but note that its protection rating is only suitable for indoor or sheltered environments.

If outdoor - 6 GHz  is critical to your use case, returning the device for a replacement might be the best option.

Why not have an option to allow low transmit power on 6G for EAP772-Outdoor so users can still take advantage of the waterproof nature of this unit outdoors, but still comply with regulations? I believe AFC is only required for high transmit power 6G. Allow a setting to equal the transmission power of the EAP772, since that unit is not weatherproof, not ideal for outdoor use. It is my understanding that 6G can still be used outdoors without AFC as long as transmission power is limited to indoor levels.

There is an 'indoor' mode setting on EAP772-Outdoor, but it still seems to require AFC enabled.

Ok i understand what ur saying, but answer me this, if EAP772 is allowed to have the 6ghz band enable, because of indoor use, why not just allow us to enable the 6ghz band on the outdoor but as an indoor? so it wont break regulations and wont mutilate the AP at all?

Hi  @Rahzadan

@Javito

I understand your perspective. However, the US firmware must comply with US wireless regulations, and currently, this cannot be achieved. I will also relay your feedback to the relevant department, and they will assess its feasibility.

For everyone who can vote on it please do, it is unfair to have out devices mutilated for reasons that make no sense
