WLAN prioritization with two SSIDs

Hello everyone,
Quick question: We have set up Wi-Fi at a public festival using 3x EAP623 Outdoor HD. Now we have both a classic Wi-Fi network with a password for the vendors and a public hotspot for guest access.
My question is whether the public hotspot is treated as secondary if the Wi-Fi network with a password is used more often. Can this be configured somewhere?

Hi @TW_EPC
Thanks for the explanation. It's clear now...
We can't set a certain SSID to have a higher priority directly, but you can consider configuring SSID rate limit for the guest SSID to make sure it won't occupy too much bandwidth:

Hi @TW_EPC
Are you saying that when the classic SSID performs poorly, you want the vendors to automatically switch to the guest network, correct?
This is client-side behavior - the AP cannot forcibly reassociate clients to a different SSID.
However, if the vendors' device has both SSIDs saved, most client devices will automatically connect to the other available SSID.

Hello Vincent,
I think there was a misunderstanding—maybe I didn’t explain it clearly.
For example, let’s say you have two SSIDs: one for employees with a password, and an open hotspot for guests. The idea is to ensure that the employee Wi-Fi always works reliably and is not affected by the guest network. So if there are any bottlenecks—such as bandwidth limitations or maximum client connections—the hotspot Wi-Fi should be deprioritized, ensuring that the employee Wi-Fi remains unaffected.
My question is whether Omada can handle this automatically, so that there is always a “primary” Wi-Fi network that takes priority, and any restrictions or limitations would only apply to the guest network.

You can also set the QoS mark for each vlan in the controller lan settings (higher value = more priority) as well as enable bandwidth control to limit throughput at the router level and not just rate limiting the ssids (which works better as its a global control rather than per client/ap control)
