Iot devices will not connect to mesh network
Firstly, im a power user of smart devices, very experienced, hundreds of devices in multiple homes, and I started on zwave close to 20yrs ago including writing the app and GUI for the Tivo app on the micasaverde store, so, im not grandma struggling with her first device. That said networking seems to stump me at times!
Using a range of tuya and grid connect devices, smart plugs, switches, LED lights, and NONE of them will provision through my new mesh router.. infact, they wont provision directly on my new TP link LTE router either, and thats the only reason I know its not a faulty mesh network, but what am I missing?
If I generate a hotspot on my Samsung S24 turn wifi on but dont connect to any networks, I can manually enter my hotspot and password to provision devices in Tuya. So its not the phone.
If I then deactivate my hotspot, and put the same ssid and password on the Deco mesh router or TP link router, the provisioned devices will connect and I can control them fine.
If try and add a device directly via the router it will not provision though and just throws an error about failing to connect
After the error, I see the device on the network, but its clearly not provisioned.
Ive set a specific IoT network, ive set 2.4ghz only, ive forced wpa/wpa2 security, iv set manual selection of channel 6 and 20mhz bandwidth. Ive deactivated beamforming fast reconnecting, turned off the extra mesh receivers, im less than 1m away from device and router. Ive tried while phone is connected to network and while not, ive tried in ez mode and AP mode it just will not work..
Now, ive said the problem isnt the deco router or TP link router, BUT, my antique Huawei optus branded lte router and eeero mesh network, works just fine to provision at my other house.
So whats up? Why wont this network let me provision iot devices?
