Hello,

I bought a few weeks ago the VIGI InSight S345S a very very good camera.

I already before about the VIGI VMS software and though I could use a pc and/ or server as NVR. Now I tried setting it up but it seems not to be possible at all to locally record with the VIGI VMS software the camera's live 24/7 to a HDD. Am I missing here something?

The reason why I'm asking is because I wanna replace all my "old" cameras with the ones from VIGI, but I will need a better NVR, since the VIGI ones are not powerful enough to record all cameras in full quality this would be an interesting software.

Hi  @Julian2111

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

May I ask what is your network topology?

Is your HDD installed on the PC running VIGI VMS to store the live view?

Was there any error if this cannot be recorded to your HDD? What is the modem number of your HDD by the way?

  @Hank21
I could not even find any kind of option to store a recording to the HDD that was my problem. The HDD I tested is a USB HDD, for the final server I wanna use a 10-18TB Toshiba HDD (MG Series).

The network looks like this

Gateway ER8411 - (SFP+) - SG3428X-M2 - (RJ45) - ES205GP - (RJ45) - VIGI camera
                             - (SFP to Fiber) - SG2210P - (RJ45) - Windows PC with VIGI VMS

When I replaced all cameras with VIGI ones the PC will be connected to the main switch, that is just because the SG2210P is at my test setup.
