Yesterday
Model: EAP610
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.6.0 Build 20250507 Rel. 66340

3 story house.

There are two EAP610 and one EAP670 on the ground floor, one EAP610 on the first floor, one EAP610 on the second floor.

Have two solar microinverter on the roof. They should connect to the second floor EAP610. Instead, they connect to the first floor EAP610, despite weak signal. Connection always unstable. Tried to force one of them to stick to the second floor EAP610. Went offline for good.

Also, I have a sonoff mini in the garage to automate some lights. Closer AP is EAP670. It has never connected to it. Tried to force it, same thing. Went offline for good.

Any thoughts?

Hi, @Leosimoni

Thank you for posting on our business forum.

We generally do not recommend deploying EAP devices across multiple floors. While EAPs are equipped with omnidirectional antennas, thick floor structures can easily block wireless signals, which often leads to unstable connections between EAP units.

We would like to suggest that you run a test: please place the main AP and the two Client APs on the same floor, same room is best, and check whether the connection instability issue still persists.

If the test confirms the issue is caused by cross-floor deployment, we recommend that you consider adjusting your network layout accordingly.

Hi Nathan, Connection among APs on different floors are stable. My problem is the connection between clients and APs. I got two microinverters installed on the roof, under solar panels. Have an AP on the attic. Those microinverters never connected to that AP. Sometimes they stick at some AP on the ground floor. And if I try to force them to connect at attic AP, they go offline for good.
