Model: VIGI C250
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 2.2.1

I am the owner of four VIGI C250 4mm cameras. Due to a degradation in image quality, I noticed that there was a significant amount of dust inside the dome, despite the cameras being waterproof. I cleaned the inside of the dome and wiped the lens itself with a glasses cleaning cloth. Afterward, I noticed smudges/streaks on the lens of every single camera.

What can I do about this now? Is it possible to fix it, or can the lens be replaced? I am a long-time user of the TP-Link brand, but I am very disappointed after this experience. The cameras are still under warranty, but I assume it might not cover this specific issue.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Hi,  @Martin_419
Thank you for posting your query on our commercial forum.

To confirm, you are reporting that scratches and stains appeared on your camera lens after wiping it with a glasses cloth, is that correct?
Damage to the camera caused by human mishandling or improper placement during installation would typically not be covered under our product warranty.

That said, if you would still like to pursue a replacement for your camera, you may reach out to your original retailer or our local support team. They will assess the specific condition of your device and determine whether a replacement can be arranged based on their evaluation.

  @Nathan-TP

Only stains appeared, there are no scratches. If the cameras were properly sealed against the outdoor environment, dust wouldn't have settled inside them, the image quality wouldn't have degraded, and there would be no need to clean them. It's a chain reaction... I am not planning to make a warranty claim, it would end up exactly as you wrote. I previously owned XY cameras from you that worked without any issues... Let's consider this matter closed. I was just looking for some advice, but after many years, I am forced to switch to products from a different manufacturer where I won't have to face such issues. Have a nice day.
