Same issue for me. OC200 just arrived, powered by 5 volts microusb and connected to my router.

Also after 20 minutes no connection to cloud but the most warning thing is that i cannot retrieve its ip address. My router doesn't lease any ip.

Tested also with another router but nothing change.

Model: OC200(UN) v1.0

Hi,

OC200 uses dynamic IP by default, it will get IP address from the DHCP server automatically. I suggest you change a Ethernet cable of OC200, reset the OC200 for checking.

@hughug What is the spec of your power adapter? It should be 5V/1A at least. If so, pls make sure you didn't plug an external usb storage.

I use a 5V power supply able to drain max 2amps, eth cable is ok and also dhcp of my router is working. On the same net i have a couple of eap115 that works well.

Could be damaged?

Is the OC200 supposed to have full feature parity with the EAP245? Not seeing portal settings options on SSIDs configured via OC200.

OC200 supports all feature with the EAP245(in standalone mode). You can find the portal function in the Wireless Control->Portal, you can add a new portal, then bind it with corresponding SSID you set.

Same problem here.. new OC200... 2A micro USB.. no cloudconnect... no connection over lan.. IP shown in router table but no WEb connect possible..just saw it one time starting but suddenly connection break.. waited for more that 30min for inittialisation... already tryed to reset.. restart.. seems that OC ist not correct booting or in a kind of a endless starting loop.. definitly doesn't work like it should

We have a setup of 8 APs currently being manged by a shared PC (for CCTV network managment) which is a J1800 based celeron PC. The PC runs omada 3.0.5 controller. the * APs are spread in select locations on the periphery of a 35 acre campus The setup is being running for a year now and we are *very happy with the overall performnace & stability. considering the price we paid.

1. Can we migrate the software based controller on PC to this hardware one ? if yes, any guides/precautions etc ?

2. How many APs can this hardware controller support ? we have plans to upgrade the 8 AP setup to about 60 APs in 2019 Q1 (cover all the 35 acre campus). So maybe 100 APs would be the maximum we will build in this system

1. You can refer to this post: https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/150465?page=1

2. The recommended managed AP number of OC200 is less than 50, and the maximum number is up to 100. If you are considering to use 100 APs in your network, we suggest you using 2 OC200 to manage them. One OC200 may be overloaded.

Our migration to the hardware controller went verys moothly with no glitches at all whatsoever. And system is stable.

i have one query about the 50 limit on EAPs being amnaged by one OC200. Is this 50 relevant only if a portal is used, or we can go 50+ (even 100) without any portal i.e. use just plain "WPA2 personal key authentication" or even "no security" ?

Hi bro,

The recommended EAP number of OC200 is 50, and recommended total clients number is about 1000. But the maximum managed EAP number is up to 100. You can manage 100 EAP product by OC200, but it is affected by the total clients number. If the clients number is much, then you may need to decrease the EAP number.

Thanks. We have estimate of 150-300 peak concurrent clients as of now. So we will go ahead and try to add all the EAPs to the only OC200 we already we are already using.
