Ceiling mounting AP in junction box
Hi,
I bought 3 AP (EAP670) to be mounted on my ceiling, 1 per floor. This is a new house built, and I installed octagonal junction box before the drywall got installed so I can hide the CAT6 cable in there, and mount the AP to that junction box. After going through the mounting instructions, I noticed that those AP could be mounted to a junction box. Now I am at the stage where I need to mount them (drywall finished, ceiling painted, etc). I tried to screw in the mounting bracket that comes with the AP, but the holes do not align with the ones from the octagonal junction box. I live in Canada, and the junction boxes that are usually installed for ceiling light fixtures are made from steel and
However, it looks like after some research done on my side, what the instructions that came with the AP is referring to I believe it is more something like a plastic round junction box.
Now that the metal octagonal junction boxes are already installed, and there is no way for me to remove them without destroying the drywall recently done, what are the other options I do have in order to properly mount these APs into those octagonal junction boxes? Is there some kind of adapters that I can purchase to place between the junction box and the mounting bracket?
Thank you in advance!
