Hi,  @ludbarri

Thank you for posting on our business forum.

A new device data collection and reporting mechanism has been introduced in Controller V6. To ensure proper communication between your devices and the controller, you will need to open TCP port 29817. If you have multiple devices that need to communicate with the controller, you will need to configure multiple corresponding access rules accordingly.

For detailed configuration instructions, you can refer to the port forwarding configuration guide for Archer routers: TP-Link Port Forwarding Setup Guide | Open Ports on Your Router

If you still experience the same log issue after opening the required port, we suggest you check whether the port forwarding rule is correctly set up, or verify if your firewall settings are blocking communication over this port.

@ludbarri  I have 5 Omada Essential controllers, with a total of 90 sites, I only have this problem on one "SITE". My ISP is Starlink, I'm using a Starlink V4 and a Tplink Archer AX12 Gigabit Router.

Hi @ludbarri

Thanks for reaching out to TP-Link Business Forums.

This is a new mechanism introduced to V6 Controller. Which ports do Omada SDN Controller and Omada Discovery Utility use? (above Controller 5.0.15) | Omada Network Support

Since you are using a third party gateway, you need to open the port on that router.

Hi @ludbarri

What's the device owing IP 192.168.0.100?

As you said you have been using Starlink & Archer router, can you specify the network topology and their own IP ranges?

  @Gabriel-TP

I also get this every now and then although the ports are open, some days it works, some days I get these entries in the site's log.

Hi,  @M_artin

Thank you for sharing that you have encountered the same issue in this thread as well.

To help us better locate the root cause of the problem, could you please help confirm the following information:

1. Could you please confirm whether you have opened port 29817 on your router?
2. Do you have any relevant firewall configurations enabled on your router? If so, could you please temporarily disable the firewall for troubleshooting?
3. Are any of your other EAP devices experiencing this same error? Do other EAP devices share the same configuration as the affected EAP? You may also perform a test by swapping the positions of this EAP and another normally functioning EAP.
4. Additionally, we would like to confirm how frequently this error message occurs.
Thank you very much for your cooperation.

@ludbarri Ths for looking my issue

after 15h  when I disconnected that EAP, no issue with LOG anymore

also no "heardbit" when I login to Omada from SG2428P

that was really frustated me, because nothing I can do

Before I disconnected  EAP ,  test other LAN port to see if maybe is a port defective, but no different

Never set any firewall

never set any port forwarding  etc

error frequently you can see in a LOG, 8min...20min...1h

as I mention before, there is no Wifi devices connected to that EAP

Anyway to force update ? when I try over OMADA, it  failed due to "latest frimware already installed"

  @Nathan-TP

hi, I have this issues on multiple sites via the essential cloud controller

It only affects certain mode APs

all my sites are connected as follows

clients ISP router connected to

POE switch

connected to tp link access points

am I correct in thinking that to resolve this issue I would need to go back to affected sites in order to alter the clients router??  To fix an issue that tp link have created??
