Model: EAP772-Outdoor
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.5.3

I recently added an EAP772-Outdoor(US) v1.0 to my system, and so far have been unable to get AFC working to enable the 6 GHz radio. It is installed on a pole outside of my home (Western NC, USA) with a clear view of the sky. In "Manage Device > Config > General > Address" the GPS reports success and the location shown on the map is within a couple of feet of its physical install location. It is running the latest firmware 1.5.3 Build 20260602 Rel. 13058. and is powered by an ER7212PC v2.0 also running the latest firmware 2.4.2 Build 20260411 Rel.22014 and controller version 6.2.0.20. I've tried disabling and reenablng the AFC setting, rebooting, etc. and in all cases the AFC setting always returns a Failed response. The 2.4 and 5 GHz radios work flawlessly otherwise, and AFC is enabled on my other indoor EAP772(US) v2.0 APs.

@ebusch Is the time fully updated on the EAP772-Outdoor? If the time is incorrect that could cause issues with GPS and thus the EAP. (That last GPS fix time might be the controller's time and not the EAP)

@NeilR_M Where would I look to confirm the time on the EAP772-Outdoor? The only time settings I see are at the Controller/Site level. Both of those show the correct timezone and Daylight Saving Time setting. Additionally at the controller level I've tried both Auto and NTP server options.

@ebusch Apologies, I had incorrectly assumed there was a way of checking specific to the device, but if you tried both setting the NTP server and Auto, the time should be updated anyway. Is it possible to put this device in standalone mode to see if AFC works in Standalone?

@NeilR_M Is that something I can do remotely through the cloud interface? The site has been setup at a second home, which I won't have physical access to again until I return in a couple of months.

@ebusch You might be able to do so via Remote Access through the ER7212PC Remote Access feature in Network Tools or if you have a VPN you might be able to do so by resetting the device through the controller then logging into the web UI via its IP.

Hi  @ebusch

Thanks for posting here.

The AFC needs to communicate directly with the TP Cloud service.

Did you enable cloud access for the controller?

Are the EAP772 indoor units managed by the same controller, ER7212PC?

Is the network connection working smoothly?

  @Vincent-TP

Yes, cloud access is enabled in the controller settings. The indoor and outdoor APs are all directly connected to, powered by, and managed by the same ER7212PC. As far as I can tell everyhing is working great, including roaming from inside to outside (or vice versa). The only issue is the lack of 6 GHz on the outdoor AP. Is there no way to see what the cause of the failure is? I noticed this doc says there should be various AFC failure codes displayed, but I don't see any additional info in my view.

Also not sure if its related, but I just noticed that although my indoor 772s both show that AFC succeded and is active, they are in Low Power Indoor mode. I previously had a support ticket open related to the map location of these devices. When AFC is enabled they show up a couple of blocks away from my home on the map. I was told it would be addressed in a future firmware update, but so far I haven't seen any change.

Hi  @ebusch

Thanks for your reply.

Can you please send me the SN of the EAP772-outdoor? To protect the info, please send me the SN via private message
