Not sure where to start, i used to have a pretty decent experience on the Omada setup, recenty one of the kids came to me asking about the PS5 in the livingroom not working.
It was at the time the only device not working as it should, dumb me tried a lot of things but couldnt get it to work properly again..
Decided to throw away my Controller run in a LXC container in Proxmox and build a new one.
Was running the latest firmware for the controller at the time with 1.5.0 on the 2 AP's, running latest controller currently in a new LXC, adopted the 2 AP's into the new controller and while being busy upgraded the AP's to 1.8.0.
Redid all the settings i used to have and now i have way more WiFi problems besides just the PS5, phones buffering on YT, alot of lag spikes on game PC and laptops while gaming, PS5 still not working, roaming on mobile when on a Teams call broken to name a few.
Would like to downgrade the AP's back to 1.5.0 but it doesnt seem to be allowed, tried to boot them in RECOVERY mode with the 192.168.0.254 page and also bocking a downgrade.


Short summary of the setup.
I have a 3 story house, nothing special, bottom floor is the livingroom/kitchen, middle floor is the bedrooms, top floor is the attic with the "work from home" office and laundry room.
1 of the 2 EAP610 devices is in the bottom floor, the other in the "office" on the top floor.
Band steering is disabled and use seperate SSID's for the 2.4 and 5GHZ radios.
Using width 40 on the 5Ghz, dont need the top speed, i want stability for the wireless devices.
Tried to "force provision" many times to reconfigure the AP's, rebooting, nothing seems to get the stability back i used to have.
Using WPA2-PSK/AES as WPA mode, needed for proper roaming in the old setup.
In the site settings i have Fast Romaing and non-stick roaming active
AP's are PoE powered from an SG2008P V3.2 running firmware 3.20.24


EAP610 V3 bottom floor
2.4Ghz: Channel 11, 20Mhz channel width en low power.
5Ghz: Only channels 36 en 40 allowed, fixed channel 36, width 40 and high power, RSSI threshold -73

EAP610 V3 Office
2.4Ghz: Channel 1, 20Mhz channel width en low power.
5Ghz: Only channels 44 en 48 allowed, fixed channel 44, width 40 and medium power.

You may consider the following suggestions to help optimize your wireless network:

1. Please ensure that both of your EAPs are connected to the network via wired connections, rather than forming a Mesh network. If one of your EAPs is operating as a Mesh AP, we recommend placing the two APs close together for testing to confirm that the Mesh AP can obtain a stable network source.
2. Please make sure there are no thick walls or obstacles between the AP and the client devices. To help identify whether the issue is caused by the EAP itself or by interference between the EAP and the device, we suggest moving the device (e.g., your phone or tablet) closer to the EAP—within approximately 5 meters and with no obstructions—and then performing a wireless stability test.
3. Regarding channel and channel width adjustments: if you prioritize stability, we recommend using the 2.4 GHz band and setting the 2.4 GHz channel to 1, 6, or 11, with a channel width of 20 MHz.

Thx for the reply, i think my question got lost due to the wall of text as these are just some generic pointers.
I want to downgrade the AP's back to 1.5.0, the 1.8.0 has the anti-rollback mechanism.
So i would like to know how to roll back the AP's.

I understand, but the 3 points you mention in the first reply is data that was already in my post.
So we can do the supposed troubleshooting but im not sure what to test based on your initial reply as i already have what you state.

Point 1. Both AP's are connected to the SG2008P V3.2 running firmware 3.20.24 with a cable, so i have mesh disabled as i dont want them to connect wireless to eachother.
Point 2. When being in the livingroom we experience buffering, we are connected to the AP in the livingroom, clear line of sight between the devices and AP.
Point 3. As written in the settings i use, the device are already using channel 1 and 11 with width 20, the 5Ghz frequency is also set to static values as written in my first post, width 40 to prevent overlap and preffer stability instead of speed.

Please refer to the suggestions below for troubleshooting:

1.Please try replacing the Ethernet cable between the EAP and the upstream device (switch or router). Ensure that the cable length is around 10 meters and that the cable specification is Cat5E or higher.
2.Check if there are many wireless clients running applications that consume significant bandwidth.
3.Please perform a long-duration ping test on your EAP as described below to verify the client's connectivity to the internet:

  • Ping the IP address of the EAP.
  • Ping the IP address of the gateway and DHCP server (usually the LAN IP address of the router. If wireless clients cannot obtain an IP address, ensure that the router's DHCP server is functioning properly).
  • Ping 8.8.8.8.

Please share the ping result with us. 
4.Try reducing the transmission power of the EAP.
If possible, could you please share the troubleshooting results with us for a preliminary analysis? Thank you for your cooperation.

See some of the PING results thats been running for a bit, not sure thoughh ow a small ICMP packets is a reall sight of info against big TCP packets.
Also, i just want to downgrade the AP's to 1.5.0 firmware, im quite sure that will get away most of the buffering im seeying now.

Ping statistics for 8.8.8.8:
    Packets: Sent = 5378, Received = 5377, Lost = 1 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 3ms, Maximum = 91ms, Average = 4ms

Gateway
Ping statistics for 10.11.12.254:
    Packets: Sent = 5390, Received = 5390, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 1ms, Maximum = 58ms, Average = 2ms

 

Eap610.
Ping statistics for 10.11.12.250:
    Packets: Sent = 5392, Received = 5388, Lost = 4 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 50ms, Average = 1ms
