Model: OC200   ER706W
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Hello,
I have a problem with a new TP-Link ER706W v1.0.

Network topology:

  • O2 (CETIN) FTTH
  • Zyxel VMG4005-B60A in bridge mode
  • ER706W connected to WAN2
  • PPPoE
  • VLAN ID 848
  • OC200 Controller
  • EAP225 Outdoor + EAP245

When the ER706W is configured in standalone mode, everything works correctly:

  • PPPoE connects successfully.
  • VLAN ID 848 is configured.
  • Internet access is working normally.

However, after I adopt the ER706W into the OC200 controller, the controller applies its configuration and the router immediately loses Internet connectivity. The WAN connection stops working and I have to restart the router and reconfigure it in standalone mode.

Could you please advise:

  1. Is there any known issue between OC200 and ER706W?
  2. Does the OC200 overwrite the WAN/PPPoE/VLAN configuration during adoption?
  3. Is there a recommended firmware version combination for ER706W and OC200?

ER706W firmware:

  • Hardware: ER706W v1.0
  • Firmware: 1.1.3 Build 20240830 Rel.54942

Thank you.

@TonyVitek Were there any WAN settings configured on the controller? You should make sure the WAN settings on the controller match the settings you have on the ER706W in Standalone.

Hi,  @TonyVitek

Thank you for posting on the business network forum.

Please rest assured that there is no compatibility issue between the OC200 and the ER706W. You can verify this by checking the ER706W's specification list: Specifications - ER706W | Omada Gigabit AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 VPN Gateway | Omada by TP-Link

We noticed that your internet connection method is PPPoE with VLAN ID 848. After the ER706W is adopted by the OC200, we kindly ask you to carefully verify whether the WAN configuration still exists on the router. If it is not present, please try reconfiguring the router's WAN port on the OC200 to see if the connection can be established successfully.

Additionally, you may also consider configuring WAN override on the OC200. Please refer to the following guide for instructions:How to preconfigure WAN settings on Omada Network v6.2 and above | Omada Network Support
