Hotspot need Autoreset Local Users Traffic Quota at the End of Every Cycle (Daily/Weekly/Monthly)
Description: Currently, under the Portal/Hotspot Local User settings, we can configure time-based traffic quotas (Daily, Weekly, or Monthly) for each user. However, we have encountered an issue regarding how unused data is handled when a new period begins.
For example, if a Local User is assigned a 50 GB monthly quota but only uses 30 GB during that month, the remaining data balance does not automatically reset to zero at the start of the next month.
This behavior causes significant operational challenges for managed sites—especially in maritime/vessel projects, where automated, strict bandwidth management is critical.
Requested Enhancement: We kindly request the Omada R&D team to consider adding a toggle/checkbox under the Portal -> Hotspot -> Local User -> Traffic Limit settings:
-
Option: "Reset traffic limit automatically at the start of each cycle (regardless of remaining quota)"
Impact: Having this feature would greatly reduce the daily maintenance burden for network admins, as they currently have to adjust or reset quotas manually. This functionality is in high demand for vessel deployments and marine business scenarios.
We would greatly appreciate it if the Omada team could evaluate this request for future controller firmware updates. Thank you!
