Model: ER701-5G-Outdoor
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.3

Hello,

I think I've found a bug, I don't know if it's from latest firmware of ER701-5G-Outdoor v.1.0.3 or Omada Controller 6.3.0.36.

After I updated ODU to 1.0.3 every day it goes offline in the controller for 30-60 seconds. It shows Heartbeat missed and online detection goes offline, ODU uptime does not reset tho', that's why I think it only loses connection with the controller.

ODU is connected to the network with ES210GMP with v6.3.1 firmware.

Thank you !

 Hi @268BBA

Thank you for posting on the business networking forum.

“Heartbeat Missed” is an intermediate state between “Connected” and “Disconnected.” For a device in this state, if the Controller receives a data packet from the device within 5 minutes, its status will change to “Connected”; otherwise, it will become “Disconnected.” Therefore, please check the connectivity between the Controller and the device. You can try to ping the controller's IP when the issue occurs.

If the connectivity is normal, please kindly try to provide the following information:

1. Does this occur at a fixed time every day?
2. Did previous versions of the Controller have this issue?
3. Are the Controller and the device located on the same network?

Hello Nathan,

I'm using linux based controller, I was on version 6.3.0.36 controller with 1.0.3 for ODU.

It was random times in the first part of the day, once per day.

I think it's a bug between 1.0.3 ODU and Controller 6.3.0.36, thruth is that ODU firmware is not yet compatible with v6.3.

Last night I've migrated devices to latest stable version 6.2.14.11 and so far so good, no more issues so far.

Yes, devices are on the same network.

Thank you!

*I did not try the behaviour on the latest beta 6.3.0.42
