How to create an IPv6 only VLAN?
How can you create an IPv6 VLAN, for IPv6-only traffic?
Using the Controller "Add LAN" form I face several problems.
- Gateway VLAN has no option to disable IPv4
- IPv6 manual prefix won't accept a ULA prefix
- Adding a VLAN to a 3xxx Switch is it no IPv6 option
Creating VLAN on gateway, there is no way not to add IPv4, and IPv6 won't accept a ULA prefix.

Using an Omada 3xxx Switch to rout VLAN, the IPv6 option just disappears! Even though the switch claims to support IPv6 on the spec sheet.

Thanks for posting here.
- Gateway VLAN has no option to disable IPv4.>>Why would you need this? You may start a new thread under the suggestions & requests block to discuss this; it would be better with more details about your scenario.
- IPv6 manual prefix won't accept a ULA prefix. >>>This is accepted and is planned to be added in Omada controller v6.4. Note: ETA is provisional, and actual delivery may vary depending on implementation conditions.
- Adding a VLAN to a 3xxx Switch is it no IPv6 option. >>> We have this option, see below screeshots from SG2008P and SG3428X

Hi @Vincent-TP thank you for your answers.

It's 2026! We only still need IPv4 for certain legacy equipment. IPv6 with no ARP, NAT, DHCP, is far easier to work with that IPv4. The only thing worse that either IPv4 or IPv6, is the overhead of managing both at the same time! 😅 I guess we can configure dummy IPv4 subnets and try to ignore them, but would be cleaner if most networks were pure IPv6 (ideally including the Omada management network). IPv6 should just be the default for any business equipment these days, IPv4 for legacy equipment only.

Excellent 👏 That will help a lot, especially with server clusters which don't always handle delegated prefixes well. Fixed ULA addresses will be ideal.

Sorry I didn't explain clearly enough. Yes the switches and aggregators can have IPv6 address, and they have IPv6 static routing entries too - I only wish Gateways did! 🙏 What I am talk about though, is using an Omada Layer 3 Switch (Omada sometimes says "DHCP enabled switch") as an inter-VLAN router. As described in this Omada page (the digram on the right below):
https://www.omadanetworks.com/us/blog/2605/what-is-a-layer-3-switch-a-guide-for-growing-networks/
You can configure a Switch VLAN port or by going to 'Network Config' -> 'LAN' -> 'VLAN' -> 'Add'. But either way, even though the Omada layer 3 switches have IPv6 interfaces and routing tables, the there is no IPv6 VLAN support for that I can find in my 3xxx switches. Strangely, the Omada Gateways, that do _not_ have IPv6 interace addresses or IPv6 static routes, they _can_ create IPv6 VLANs! Gateways and Layer 3 Switches should both support IPv6 addresses, routing, and VLANs - but seems not the case?

Here is a config doc for a Switch VLAN port for IPv4, but Omada 3xxx/5xxx/7xxx Switches are supposed to support IPv6 also.
