Did you connect your phone/computer to the tplink SSID?
A lot of people will connect to their host network because internet is not working after you connect to the tplink Wi-Fi. But you don't need internet to login.
I would say reset is a good idea if it's 1st time installation or it doesn't work at all. Otherwise you may need to find the IP address of tplink from the router's interface and use the IP address to login.
