Hi folks, am trying to replace a Huaweii HG659 with this modem, works fine for internet but IPTV is an issue.

The Huaweii lists VLAN 10 for internet_vdsl interface and the iptv_interface.

I can't match that exactly in the config as if i enable vlan for the iptv with same vlan i get an error can't have 2 of the same vlan.

ideas?

Hi,

How did you set up the IPTV? Could you please send us a screenshot?

By the way, is there DSL line plug into the VR2800 or Ethernet RJ45 from ISP end?

Please send us a screenshot on advanced--status page as well.

Thanks, good day!

Hi Kev, let me show how the Huaweii is configured, then maybe we can see how the tplink should be configd to emulate that

See both interface use vlan 10, with different p bits.

DSL connection is used.

Hi,

Have you ever tried to enable VLAN ID 10 for internet and enable IPTV without VLAN ID enabled?

If not, please give it a go, and you only need enable IPTV function, and choose a LAN port as IPTV port.

Any updates, please let us know.

Have a nice day.

Hey Kevin, finally got to try that today , didn't work unfortunately.
So have tried it in bridge / PPOE / Dyn DNS mode without VLAN 10 enabled.
I think it needs the VLAN id enabled for IPTV AF traffic to flow in the vendor network with PCP marking 4.

My wife is home now, so my "change window" has ended. Will try next time iff I can run the data traffic on vlan 9 for example, but enable vlan 10 with PCP 4 or TV traffic

I'm not too hopeful in that regards, so if you have any other ideas or a software updarte to allow similar function like the HG659 that would be great!

I never did fix it, I worked through the steps as recommended by support but the TV never worked. Some IGMP issue as a wild guess.

Maybe try a co-op with support? I never did that.

Not sure of there are any firmware releases that would help you...

@Marto

Mine is up to date. I will ring Vodafone tomorrow and see what they say. I rang today to ask if i bought a new modem would it work with the tv. And i was told yes. So if they tell me it doesn't I will be getting them to refund me the cost of the modem!
