Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 0070.0

Hi,

I currently have a AC1200 Modem/Router and I am thinking of getting a new AX6000.

Can anyone inform me how easy is it to change the AC1200 into 'Modem' only ( I assume that this is what they call 'bridge' mode?) and then attach the AX6000 to the AC1200 to run everything. Will the AX6000 pick up the interent connection from the AC1200 easily?

Unfortuantely my ISP are TalkTalk (in the UK) and they are most unhelpful and will not tell me how to use any other equipment other than theirs. The good news is that the AC1200 automatically connects and has been really reliable so far.

I have recently tried this with an ASUS router but had to return this as it just wouldn't pick up the connection so I hope by having both units as TP-Link, it will be easier?

Thanks

Hi,

Please provide some information so that we can do further analysis.

What is the model number of the AC1200? You can find it on the bottom label on the back panel of the actual device.

How do you get internet with the AC1200? Use the telephone line or ethernet cable?

Do you want to use AC1200 and the AX6000 together to get internet?

Thanks in advance, and have a nice day.

Model is Archer VR400 - A wireless VDSL/ADSL Modeum Router.

The internet connection is via a telephone line with a small DSL plug that goes into the back of the modem/router.

My thinking was to use the AC1200 as a modem only as the internet connection appears to be really stable and then connect the AX6000 to one of the ports on the AC1200.

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

You can connect the VR400 to the telephone line and configure it as bridge mode.

Then you can connect the AX6000 to the one of the ethernet ports and set it up as a regular wireless router to make you access internet.

May it help and have a nice day.
