Model: Archer C4000
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1

Regret buying this product. Was on Asus router and very satisfy until it ends it's life cycle.

Now trying TP. Slowness and support in terms of firmware is bad. Sad.

**Changes

From Asus Router 87U to TP Link AC 4000

Problem

Using this Resilio Sync Software for backup. Setup is from wifi to the desktop. (Basically nothing changes on my machines)

transfer speed dropped from 5 to 7 mb/s to 700~800 kb/s and below. try to tweak the setting and use a older network wifi, same issue. LAN speed remains constant.

The wifi is connected to the "guest network" same setup as when i am using Asus router.

so the problem now is slowness. and apprently there is no new firmware released. Possible?

Hi,

May I know how did you transfer the backup file? Use the 2.4GHz or 5GHz? Please show us a screenshot of the transferring page where you saw the transfer speed as well.

Meanwhile, what is the serial number of the C4000?

With your computer connected to the C4000, what is the actual speed you can get? You can go to speedtest.net to run a test.

Thanks in advance, and have a nice day.

--> the backup is done automatically by the apps. The network used is 5GHz. similar issue (slowness) observed in 2.4Ghz.

How do i insert the image?

--> via 2.4ghz D/L 20.19 U/L 18.30 Mbps

@Kevin_Z  yes same thing is happening to me when i reboot the router the speed increases then by the end of the day it goes back to turtle speed. The router can't hold the speed i am paying for. I have to schedule a reboot everyday. Wasted my money i should've bought netgear.

@Kurt1219

Hello, as per your simple description, it seems that your issue is not the same as teocs01's, his issue was he tried to transfer files between the guest network and main network with third-party software, yours seems to be a speed issue? Please help verify with more details, thanks:

1. Who is your ISP and what is the model number of your modem? What kind of connection type on your C4000, Dynamic IP or PPPoE?

2. What is the download/upload speed you can get when you connect a computer directly to the ISP modem? Is that speed stable?

3. Without any other devices connected, connect one computer to the C4000 directly and confirm if the speed will drop after the router running for some time. BTW, simplify your network layout if there are other routers or RE in your network, just leave the modem and the C4000 on, disconnect other devices.

And please tell me the wired link speed when the speedtest is normal and when it is not, how to get that? You can refer to the below link.
https://www.tp-link.com/faq-2265.html

4. You can also refer to the below instruction to narrow down the issue as well.
https://www.tp-link.com/faq-2170.html

Thanks.
