@nightfever

I tried that too, but with 1.3-beta-something on the first Archer C6 and 1.3.0 on the 2nd Archer C6 it didn't work. Like mentioned here, installing OpenWRT through the web interface does not always work and depends on the currently installed firmware:

Cheers

@dIaBoLyK Did it yesterday and stayed on OpenWrt, much more possibilities.

Btw. had the same issues with 2.4 GHz WiFi after I upgraded the OEM firmware.

@nightfever

Let me get it straight. You downloaded one of the below pointed images (Firmware OpenWrt Install? Firmware OpenWrt Upgrade?) and you used it in the TP-Link Firmware Upgrade option in control panel?

@nightfever I didn't have issues in 2'4 when I tried openwrt some weeks ago. Do you mean these problems are hardware related?

@Kubas OpenWrt install and yes uploaded and flashed via the Tp-link user interface. Worked like charm

@adios I think its a misunderstanding, I have no issues with openwrt so far. Had the WiFi issue threaded here after I updated the tp-link firmware from 1.2.1 to newer one

@adios

These problems are definitely firmware related. There are no problems at all with the 2.4 GHz WiFi and TP-Link's firmware version 1.2.1.

I just installed OpenWRT just as you said, but in my case I had TP-link firmware version 1.3.6 installed. I used 19.07.5 Firmware OpenWRT Install - bin file from: https://openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tp-link_archer_c6_v2#flash_using_web_interface, and used firmware upgrade option from TP-link control panel. My c6 works without any problems. OpenWRT configuration is a bit different and requires a bit more knowledge than it was in original C6 firmware. I didn't notice any problems with 5GHz network as mentioned somewhere above. Luckily 5GHZ network is not the main type of connection I use so the 2.4Ghz is priority here. Anyway I have to admit that my C6, after number of crashes before, was currently working quite well on 1.3.6 for the last six weeks or so. The only things that I changed six weeks ago was setting channel to 1 and changing position of my C6 in my home network from main router directly connected to fiber Internet modem to additional router, connected by cable to the new main router (I use my old C6 on the 2nd floor now). The position change also changed a bit number of devices that were using my C6. For these 6 weeks my TV, the TP-Link re200 v2 and roof solar panels controller were not connecting to my C6.
