@Ordep @robot2342

Hello, could you please provide more information?

What is the current led status of the RE305? What about the hardware and firmware versions?

Please show us a screenshot of the network map page, please click the RE icon.

And what is the model number of the main router and its hardware and firmware?

Thanks a lot.

I have the same problem - RE305 v3 cannot connect to 5GHz. I tried firmware update and restart but without a change.

I have also bought RE200 and during setup, I realized that RE305 is transmitting at 5GHz but doesn't show information about it in the mobile App even LED diode on the top of the device is still off. After that is seems it works correctly without notifying about successful connection.

Hi, so can I say that the RE305 works well now? Including 2.4GHz and 5GHz both?

What is the model number of the main router and its firmware version?

Thanks a lot.

Hi all,

Thanks for your attention. If you have the same issue with the extender's  5GHz, please provide us with the information below so that we can speed up the whole process and try to locate your case and fix it as soon as possible.

1. The model number of your TP-Link extender; and its hardware/firmware version. The LED light status of the current extender.

2. Have you ever configured it with the main router's wifi password? Both 2.4GHz and 5GHz.

3. Try to show us some full screenshots of the settings-status page and settings-network page of the extender once you logged into the web UI.

Note: Please click the extender's icon before you take a snapshot of the status page.

4. Besides, please tell us the model number of the main router and its firmware version.

Thanks for your support and cooperation in advance. Good day.

@tomzanca

Thanks for your information.

There is an exclamation mark between router and extender, which seems the extender failed to communicate with the router.

Our engineer will email you the firmware, and you can take some time to install and test its performance.

Good day.

Hi I am having the same exact problem on latest firmware 1.1.1 Build20200114 Rel.45334 Ver:3.0 EU.

I am always losing my 5ghz Wifi despite being in a signal perfect spot according to the app but still I am experiencing this problem a way lot more now. Having bought this product not even 3 months I can tell that 5ghz Wifi is always lacking strength in comparison to the 2.4ghz one is this normal ? Despite numerous updates I am still experiencing this type of problems that make me lose my confidence in this product because it works rather strangely always losing 5ghz connection to the router host exactly the same as the previous users as shown in pics leaving me with an exclamation not being able to connect to 5ghz then it stabilizes after reboots but then again it is massively dropping its connection every 2 days.

@Mambitos

Thanks for your information, and we are sorry for the inconvenience caused here.

We will do some troubleshooting and try to locate this issue and figure it.

1. What is the led status of the RE305 when 5GHz stops working? What about the 2.4GHz and wired connection, do they work well at the same time?

2. Are your devices still connected to the 5GHz but no internet access or it loses connection at all?

3. If you can login to the web UI of the RE305 when 5GHz crashed, please show us a screenshot of the status page and network-DHCP settings page.

4. Besides, what is the model number of your fiber gateway?

Good day.

@Kevin_Z

1. LED status for 5ghz is down and 2.4ghz is lighted when this problem occurs, today I woke up and my 5ghz connection was dead again.

2. My devices are still connected to the 5Ghz my repeater isn't it is only stable when connecting to 2.4ghz it is the only one that keeps up.

3. I’ve tested 2 types of conditions: 1 where I skip my 2.4ghz connection and only connect with my 5ghz Wifi. 2 where I connect to my 2.4ghz and then my 5ghz Wifi (which is the mode I use the most).

1st condition  https://imgur.com/a/HLE0OvY https://pastebin.com/i17LytvW

2nd condition https://imgur.com/a/0W7mncd  https://pastebin.com/4jyq9KpV

My FiberGateway model is GR241AG ( ONTRGW1405A025 )
