I have a Archer c3200 which handles my 600mbit internet connection, furthermore ive set up and older ( still 1gbit ) d-link dir 825 as AP connected LAN to LAN with a cat6 cable. The D-link has DHCP turned off and static IP address one digit higher than the Archer and doesnt look like theres any conflicts.

But my problem is im only getting 95mbit internet connection when using a cabled connection through the D-link. When takin a cable directly from the archer im gettin 600mbit so its not the internet provider. Wondering if theres some setting in the Archer UI thats needs tweaking???

@keddefar

With computer connected to the Archer C3200, bypass the D-link AP, what is the speed you can get? Is it normal?

Meanwhile, please verify the negotiation speed of the LAN port on the D-link AP, cause the actual speed is 90Mbps, we suspect that the negotiation speed is 100Mbps, not 1 gigabit.

You can change another ethernet cable, like cat5e or above to give it a shot.

Good day.

How do I verify the negotiation speed to D-Link LAN port? Im on win10

Thanks for your reply.

The Archer C3200 works well as expected, cause the speed from the D-Link router is slow, the troubleshooting need to be done on it.

For the negotiation speed, usually, we can login to the web UI of the router to verify it; while for the D-Link router, you can contact their tech support for the accurate info.

Meanwhile, please confirm whether the ethernet port on the D-Link router is gigabit port or 100Mbps port.

Best regards.

Just tried connecting the D-Link to the Archer by a short 1m cable ( the cat6 UTP on my attic is around 20m ) and boom cabled connection to the D-Link gives 600mbit internet - sooo there might be something with that cat6 cable, figured out that UTP means non-shielded, so there might some interference on the connection which causes the D-Link to negotiate a 100mbit connection. Just a bit puzzeld that my workstation gladly negotiates 1Gbit on the same 20m cat6 UTP cable...

Hello, thanks for your reply, glad to hear that you figured it out finally.

The ethernet cable does affect the performance/negotiation speed of your device.

For now, you can change another cat 5e or above cable to connect the D-Link and TP-Link router to enjoy the internet.

Good day.
