Model: HS100
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I understand TP-Link for some reason removed the possibility to set local or remote control. For various reasons it's vital that my HS100 plugs cannot be controlled remotely. That's why my plugs are set to Local only. Without going into details it will be very dangerous if it were possible to remotely do anything with these plugs.

So what can i do??? Unless there is a solution to restrict remote accsess I'm going to scrap my plugs and go to another brand. What happens if I delete my Kasa gmail account? Can I still control my plugs locally thru my WiFi?

@MK54

Hello, to block remote control, you can hard reset the smart plug first and then open the kasa app but do NOT login with the cloud account to configure it.

After that, the smart plug can be controlled locally only.

May it help and have a nice day.

Hi @MK54

My only guess as to the number of servers is they are spreading out the load.

Please let us know if this worked for you.

Hey man, that's good!  I thought it was impossible to bypass the Kasa login screen.

Lol, there is an option to skip the login page. You may miss that.

Anyway, you can give it a go now, and if need more help in the future, do not hesitate to contact us.

Have a nice day.
