Model: Archer MR600
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 190412 Rel.66770n

I can't see my recieved sms messages in the admininistration interface even though everything else works fine.

I can see that I have recieved messages both on the Basic overview page as well as looking at the number of pages that should be availible in the Advanced->SMS->Inbox page (it displays that there are 2 pages of incoming messages but the list is completely empty). See my attached screenshots.

The Outbox and Drafts pages work fine though and display the correct messages supposed to be there as well as the correct number of pages. Also sending SMS messages from the router to my phone get throgh perfeclty fine.

In the Advanced->System tools->System Log I can see that I really recieve SMS messages. It displays for example: "USER: Receive a new gw sms and save it successfully." It also displays "ERROR: New sms count is 13."

So it seems to be some kind of bug concering just the Inbox page which is quite annoying since I need to see SMS messages to see what my provides tells me about my 4G usage status/tariffs etc.

Please advice.

Best regards,

M

@M7sthlm

May I know who is your Internet service provider?

Is there any special characters existed on the text message?

Meanwhile, is there any special rules for the format of the message?

If possible, you can show us the content of one of the SMS messages and then we can do a test at our lab.

Thanks in advance, and have a good day.

@Kevin_Z

Hi Kevin,

My current internet provider is HT-HR (Croatian telecom - https://www.hrvatskitelekom.hr/ ) and I'm using their 4G network. Their message center number seems to be "385980501".

Since I can't see what they send to me I don't know if there are special characters. But I did a simple test to avoid special charachters:

1. I sent a SMS from the router to my Iphone containing the word "test" - it was recieved on my phone and appeared correctly.

2. I replied on that SMS from my Iphone to the router with the exact word "test2" (without quotations marks of course). I can see in the router log that it recieves a SMS and the counter is +1 on the overview page. But still no SMS in the list to see, the list is still empty.

Log output from this simple test:

1 2019-09-18 12:09:02 4G Information USER: Receive a new gw sms and save it successfully.
2 2019-09-18 12:09:01 4G Information ERROR: New sms count is 14
3 2019-09-18 12:08:46 4G Information USER: Send a sms successfully.
4 2019-09-18 12:08:46 4G Information

USER: Send a gw sms.

I don't really understand your questions regarding "rule"? Please explain and I will try to answer asap.

Best regards,
M

@Kevin_Z I am also getting this issue. I am on the latest firmware. I have sent a text to myself successfully and replied. The router acknoledges the reply but cannot display in exactly the way you have described.

@Kevin_Z

To add some info to the informationen provided earlier to you, please see the log below. I just got another sms that I can't see and saw that in the system log.

Perhaps you are on something around the non standard chars. Please also update me if any work or troubleshooting is being done and if I can assist in any way. I'm really eager to get this solved beacuse it complicates my usage quite a bit.

Best regards,

M

@Heero-Yui @M7sthlm

Thanks for your clarification.

Our engineer has been working on it, and they offered a beta firmware which you can try to install and verify whether it works.

http://support.tp-link.com/f/44c54f9d03/?dl=1

How to update the firmware of Archer MR600, please refer to https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1667/

Any updates, please let us know.

Good day.

@Kevin_Z

Hi Kevin,

I have tried the firmware version and the problem remains even after the upgrade to that version. I also tried to send myself a new SMS after the upgrade to see if that will appear, but that didn't work either. I have reported this to the engineer working as well.

@M7sthlm

Hello, after you install the new firmware, please reset the router and reconfigure it.

Then it will work as expected.

Good day.

@Kevin_Z

Hi, yes. It worked fine a while and then It stopped working again. I think that it worked until my provider sent me a sms. I have sent this info by mail to your engineering colleagues. So unfortunately the firmware + reset only works a short while, it's not a solution.

@M7sthlm

I see, thanks for your reply.

It is a pity that the beta firmware plus hard reset cannot solve your issue permanently.

You can keep in touch with our engineer colleague, and they will try their best to locate the issue and fix it.

Best regards.
