Today I bought the TP LINK ranger extender TL-WA850RE because I needed to extend my 5ghz band wireless router connection to my bedroom.

I have a Samsung Galaxy A7 2018 (SM-A750FN), running Android Pie 9.0.

My smartphone can recognize the 5ghz band of the router but it can't recognize the 5ghz band of the extender.

The speef in the 2.4 ghz is very low, so I really needed to extend the 5 ghz band of the router.

I tried to change the channel from auto to 36, 40, 44, 48, but the 5ghz band of the extender still didn't showed up on my smartphone.

Hello, the TL-WA855RE is a single band extender, it supports 2.4GHz only; that is why you cannot recognize the 5GHz on the main router.

For your information, there are some dual band extender, like RE450, RE200, RE650.

Hello, the TL-WA855RE is a single band extender, it supports 2.4GHz only; that is why you cannot recognize the 5GHz on the main router.

For your information, there are some dual band extender, like RE450, RE200, RE650.
