FTP server does not work

Model: Archer VR400

Hardware Version: V1

Firmware Version: 0.1.0 0.9.1 v0070.0 Build 160613 Rel.40404n

I have got a Archer VR 400 that works very well. In order to store images from a surveillance camera, I have plugged a USB drive in the router.Although I am able to access the drive from my PC (WIN10) I cannot connect to it using FIleZilla (err 500). Same problem with Firefox : when I type ftp://192.168.1.1:21 a window pops up and requires a login and a password. When they both of them are correctly provided nothing happens.

Does anyone has a clue of what I did wrong??! and what I should modify to get the FTP server work?

Hello,

For this issue, we can do some troubleshooting to fix it.

Please reboot the router first, then open Google Chrome and type in ftp://192.168.1.1:21, can you access the driver? If not, please send us a screenshot.

Besides, how did you access the driver on your computer? Did you use Samba? Are you able to send us a screenshot of it?

Finally, you got the error 500 when using FIleZilla, please also send us a screenshot on that page.

Is this your first time using the USB sharing function?
