Model: Deco M9 Plus
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2

Hi

I just bought a second set of m9+ mesh routers but noticed there are missing firmware features from my other v1 routers. Does TPLink plan to update v2 firmware to match v1? If not do they still offer v1 for sale?

Hopefully so, if not I need to exchange in the next few days for a different brand (I love my v1 but don't understand why they are running different feature sets??).

@Miked630

Yes, we have the plan to update the V2 firmware to match V1, currently, the new firmware is still under test, please wait patiently for the new firmware.

Good day.

@TP-Link_Deco I'm not trying to be rude but if you look through these forums that has been tp-links answer for almost 6 months or more it looks like. I understand these things take time and I'd rather wait a while and have a working firmware update vs one full of bugs but it's a little unsettling when all you say is "this will be addressed in a firmware update soon" but can not give us a window of how long before we can actually see that update. I can't buy v1 of the m9 anywhere now but the v2 doesn't have any of the basic features found on almost all mesh systems available now so why do you expect us to stick around and wait for a promise of updates "soon" when we have other options? I'd love to keep my m9+ and continue to use it but not if you're going to keep jerking us around and can't give a straight answer as to how long before we get this promised update. Even "it will still be 6 months or longer" or "within a year" etc are better then just saying "soon".

 More specific insight would be very appreciated. Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong places and this kind of derailed info is available, if so please let me know where.

Thanks!

@BEinc hi see my other reaction in a similar topic. I posted a reaction from tp-link. "Somewhere in Q3 this year" not a real date.

Regarding to your post where u say "im not trying to be rude" in this case you have every right to be rude. This is really unacceptable!

@TP-Link_Deco

I'm in the exact same position. I bought a second set of M9 (and have now both v1 and v2) and am very surprised to experience a downgrade in functionality. As this is unacceptable for me I can return them to the shop and get back my 300€ or believe the promise it will come anytime soon...

Again, a very odd situation to be in when buying premium products!

This thread seems to be a copy of mine very long one

https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/179488?

Lots of lots of frustration and empty promises in that thread.

v2 has been running on older firmware compared to v1 since October 2019.
