Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.1 Build 20171218 Rel. 50791

I have connected my RE-205 with LAN and operation Mode is Access Point.

When I connect the LAN to laptop and check speed, I am getting approx 200mbps. But when I connect the LAN to wifi and check speed on laptop via wifi standing next to it, I don't get it more than 70mbps.

I have tried both 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz, changed the wifi channel to unique so that it doesn't overlap. Tried all the encryption, even no encryption, still no improvement.

The laptop have gig ethernet and wifi cards.

 

Please advise how can I get the maximum speed.

Thank you very much for your time and patience.

May I know the hardware and firmware version of RE205?

Did it also work as the access point mode?

If yes, since RE205 has 1 x 10/100M Ethernet Port (RJ45), so the maximum download speed would be limited to 100m/s;

While if it is on the range extender mode, there would not be such limitation.

Please check the Link speed on your PC when connect to RE205 wifi. It's 433Mbps on 5G wifi?
