Deco E4 mesh running below 100MBPs
Good afternoon all.
I have tried various things (see list below), however the device does not seem to allow internet speeds faster than 93 MBPS.
1. My 5G router provides 450 MBPS when connect via WIFI or ethernet cable.
2. I am using Ookla do do the speedtest.
3. When connected via Ethernet directly to the router, I get 450MBPS
4. When connecting to the Deco E4 device via ethernet I get less than 100BMSP
5. When connecting to the Deco device via WIFI, I get less than 100MBSP
6. I did swop the 2 devices, howeer no change.
Pleeeeeeaaase Help

Hello,
The model of your Deco device is E4? If that's correct, I'm afraid you bought a wrong device as it is equipped with 2 10/100Mbps WAN/LAN Ports, and it may be only suitable for a bandwidth no more than 100M.
If you just purchased it, it is suggested to contact your reseller to check if they can help upgrade it to M4 or other models.
Sorry about that.

Thank you for your reply. I am however quite frustrated as nowhere on the box does it say 10/100 WAN/LAN Port. It only refer to and I quote:
"Wireless: 300 Mbps on 2.4 MHz, and 867 Mbps on 5 MHz and"
"2 Fast Eterner Ports per Deco unit"
I am not an expert, so how should I read the above? I think it is false advertising at its best.
Regards
Julius

Hello, sorry about that.
Actually, 2 Fast Ethernet Ports = 2 10/100Mbps WAN/LAN Ports, so it is not false advertising.
However, we will feedback to the related department and ask them to evaluate if we need to make it clearer. For your case now, it is suggested to contact your reseller and confirm if they could help with the upgrade or replacement.
Thanks again for your understanding.

As an experienced installer, I believe that it is a deliberate action of the marketing department to sell a technologically outdated product such as E4. The same happened to me today. as an advanced user, I did not think that someone else could offer a wifi access point with speeds of several hundred Mbps with a 10/100 lan port. Tomorrow I will try to return it to the store, if the seller does not accept it back, I intend to describe the whole matter on LinkedIn, so that the press spokesman of TP link Poland can refer to it.
