Hi,

I would like to setup my TP-Link router for wifi roaming. When switching off dhcp server, I always get operations failed.

I have a Telenet wifi modem and would like to have the SSID in all of the house the same.

I was told to switch off the dhcp server and to not use the WAN entry and give the router a fixed IP adres for example 192.168.1.254

Can somebody let me know what I need to do exactly because it looks as if I am doing something wrong as I need to reset the router to get him up and running again.

Thanks,

Guido

Hello,

If you want to connect this AX1500 wirelessly to your existing Telenet wifi modem, you can enable the WDS bridging function to give it a go.

If you want to connect it to the existing Telenet wifi modem with an Ethernet cable and make it work as an Access Point, below are the setup instructions you may refer to:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2066/

May this help.
