Hello,

I am a UK based Vodafone subscriber to VDSL.

The vodafone supplied router drops out 3/4 times a week and I would like to use my TD-W9970 to see if connectivity becomes stable.

Here is what i have attempted today -

Dug out Vodafone paperwork and obtained username & password

Checked old text to me from Vodafone showing username and password

Chat with Vodafone staff today confirming the above username & password

So I will assume that after all that have the correct username & password !

Plugged in the TPLINK - logged on and triggered auto setup

After 5 minutes, connection established, please see as below for connection info -

If the PPPOE connection is not establishd then no internet...

AFAIK correct username & password input.

If I plug the vodafone router back in, after 10 mins all is well.

Using manual setup I have input the VLAN value of 101 which is supplied during auto setup. I cannot see where to input a QOS value, if indeed one is even needed ?

Perhaps my TD-W9970  router is not compatible with Vodafone & BT infrastructure ?

Any clues about what do to next ?

Thanks all....

@mjsc

Good day.

Thank you very much for your time and patience.

Have you ever checked with the Vodafone if the VLAN ID 101 is needed or not?

Or if possible, could you please only set up the PPPoE connection without VLAN ID?

As for the QoS value, most of the time, it is not needed;

And if possible, you could try to set up the vodafone supplied router as the bridge DSL modem, then configure the TD-W9970 as the wireless router?

Thank you very much and have a nice day.
