@TP-Link any news? My setup just screwed itself up and no number of reboots or anything seems to help.

The chain is supposed to be Deco 1 -> Deco 2 -> Deco 3 -> Deco 4

but since this morning it's stuck at

              | -> Deco 2

Deco 1 -|

              | -> Deco 4 -> Deco 3

or

              | -> Deco 2

Deco 1 -| -> Deco 3

              | -> Deco 4

[UPDATE]:

I moved Deco 4, which is connected to Deco 3 via powerline ethernet, as far away from the other Deco's as possible, and now it doesn't seem to reach Deco 1 anymore. Success! But now Deco 3 still keeps connecting to Deco 1 instead of Deco 2...

              | -> Deco 2

Deco 1 -|

              | -> Deco 3 -> Deco 4

The optimal solution would of course be to set Deco 2 as Main, but that doesn't work because my LTE modem is on the attic, connected to Deco 1...

@McFox This is how I managed to achieve the daisy-chain setup, (read it in one of the replies in this forum). I have 3 M4s. Wanted to achieve Master<-Satellite1<-Satellite2.

But with the default config, the connection was always Satellite1->Master<-Satellite2.

So I covered the Master in an Aluminum Foil and placed it in a metal utensil (basically trying to block off the Master as much as possible). It worked, Satellite2->Satellite1. No reboots after,  reboot reverts back to the original config. Signal Source still holding. Not the easiest  solution, but works, till the TP-Link releases new Firmware to allow manual updates to the Signal Source.

@LuFu

Yeah, I didn't have to do that much, I just rebooted my deco's a lot of times in different orders until they connected the way I wanted. I also ended up moving the deco that's connected via powerline ethernet as far as possible, so now it's even less likely to erroreously connect via wifi...

Anyway, the firmware with manual signal source setting is already out for the M5, so I'd assume it's coming relatively soon for the M4 as well...

  @TP-Link Not currently and not never. This is what you should have answered. The way you mention you are giving hope to people, which you know it will never come. This featue is being requested for several years and you do nothing. Not even in new products. You dont want to consider it. Done.

Don't create false expectations to users. This is the minimum they deserve.

  @cpinho You are right. They are cheating on old customers. I won't buy again Tp-Link products, this is for sure.

  @basty No update, Tp-link just doesn't reply and isn't interested in customer satisfaction. I am still waiting but hope is ending so I will soon buy other brands mesh satellites system.
