Hi,

I have an  Alcatel Lucent G- 240W -B router (dual band). I bought TP link RE450 extender. Just yesterday 2.4 & 5 G were working. But today 5G started dropping signal with no internet connection message even when the RE 450 TP link model was close to the router.

Tried resetting &  5G worked for few secs & then no internet, also the 5G LED on the router goes off & returns.

Please help. 2.4 G works fine.

@bruttbratt Hello,

From your description, router's 5Ghz Led flash On & Off rather than stable On. May I know do you have a stable connection from Router's 5Ghz?

If router's 5Ghz is stable, please confirm your range extender firmware is up to date: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1406/

Please change a different Wi-Fi channel for 5Ghz, Channel 36/40/44/48 is recommended.

If still same issue, may I know the firmware & hardware version of your range extender ? How about the 5Ghz Led on range extender when issue happened, is it On/ Off?

@Solla-topee

hi,

I tried the option of changing the channel from auto to 40 & now its working fine whereas 2.4 ghz also changed to 1 but not as speedy as before. But I am satisfied since I opt for 5 ghz. So it works now for me.

Now all lights are stable & I have a stable connection.
