Troubleshooting Zoom or Microsoft Teams frozen or hanging when connected to Deco

This Article applies to:
Several Deco models
Zoom/ Skype/ Microsoft Teams, and other Video Conference Platforms
Typical Problem Description:
1. After connecting to the Deco Wi-Fi, Zoom says that the signal is low. The video stutters and stops for long periods (sometimes more than 3 seconds).
2. During a Zoom meeting, the video stutters, pauses & audio gets delayed even though the wireless connection is pretty strong and wireless speed is fast.
Troubleshooting suggestions:
You may find similar feedback on other mesh systems when searching online, such as Google Nest Wi-Fi (click here to find details), and Netgear Orbi (check here).
If you, unfortunately, encounter a similar issue, there are some useful suggestions shared by our users, you could give them a go one at a time:
1. Turn off the Mesh Technology on the device.
2. Turn off the Fast Roaming and Beamforming on the Deco APP > More > Advanced.
3. Enable the QoS for live-streaming and put the device into high priority.
4. Set up the Deco as an Access Point if there is an additional wireless router: How to set up Deco to work in Access Point mode?
5. Update the Deco firmware version to be the latest one per different models.
If the issue continues after applying the above suggestions, and the wireless adapters of the computers are Intel AX200/AX201/AX210/AX211, please install the following beta firmware to see whether it helped:
Note! Please be sure you have read the Terms and Conditions for TP-Link Beta Firmware before proceeding.

@GastondZ kinda defeats the object of having a mesh network.

@CraigRX7 Not sure if this will help you or not, but Amazon has a process to allow refunds after the 30-day refund period. I had an ice maker for my outdoor bar which stopped working during the manufacturer's warranty period. The manufacturer was no help...I called repeatedly, and they did not solve the problem. I eventually called Amazon to see if they could help push the manufacturer to replace the ice maker. Instead, Amazon offered me a prorated refund. You probably won't get the full amount back, but might not be a bad idea to see what they can offer.

@vinny.fernandez thanks for the pointer. I just contacted them on their chat service, navigated a few dead ends trying to get me to contact TP-Link and eventually they have issued a return with promise of a full refund! Now to figure out an alternative...

@GastondZ Hey Gaston,
Do you mean each deco connected to a core switch?
Mine are the PoEs so that is currently my setup.

@TP-Link , your devices just don't work.
I have lots of Decos. Most of them hardwired back to the main unit. One of the hardwired ones (a satellite to the main unit) is 10 feet from my Macbook. Pings are fine. Speedtest is fine. Teams, connections drop. Video freezes. Audio freezes. I don't have this issue with my laptop elsewhere, just with my deco. It's a deco thing as others are saying. I'm in for thousands of dollars. I would be happy to replace it with something else if I could get a refund, but that's not a simple option.
TP-Link, look at my account. Please, make a helpful recommendation. All the firmware is up-to-date. I've rebooted the units. I'm literally a few feet away from a hardwired unit. You've already failed to deliver on the promise of mesh - I've drilled holes in my house to run hard wire to try to recover some value for this system. What I'm looking for now is the basics of 802.11 - just wifi from my computer to an access point. Mesh is off. Fast roaming is off. Beam forming is off. All the bells and whistles are off. My laptop is hard set to a specific AP. It has a strong signal. Outside of Teams, it's working fine.
Please, provide a helpful response to all the frustrated users on this thread that respects all the work that people have done before coming here to ask for help. All my tech is up-to-date. It's a you thing, not a me thing.
Please, help.
