WiFi 6E utilizes the capabilities of 6 GHz to enable high-bandwidth applications that require faster data throughput such as high-definition video streaming and virtual reality, as well as lower latency connectivity for online gaming applications.
Designed for More Devices – OFDMA and MU-MIMO
As Smart Homes become far smarter than before, our networks become more and more crowded as a result of not only the additional sensors/devices but also the traffic flowing from the devices to the network to make your house “Smart.”
Previous generations of Wi-Fi were often limited to having an absolute maximum of 150 devices. Wi-Fi 6E and the Deco XE200 take advantage of two technologies, OFDMA and MU-MIMO; which serve to increase the maximum number of devices to over 200!
Protection for Your Whole Home, Devices, and Family
All three models ship with the newest version of TP-Link HomeShield Technology.
As more devices are added to our networks, especially sometimes from manufacturers or sources we don’t know, we need to make sure that our information, devices, and networks are protected from potential threats that you may not know are happening or even possible.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q1. Which 6GHz channels does Deco support?
WiFi 6E Deco system works on the U-NII-5 band and will select the best channel automatically.
Q2. How does the 6GHz band operate on the Deco Mesh product?
6GHz network acts as a dedicated backhaul by default, which means, by default, the 6GHz band is only used for data transfer between Deco units.
If you want to connect your Wi-Fi 6E supported phones/laptops to the 6GHz radio of the Deco network, you could enable the 6GHz Wi-Fi in the Deco app. For detailed steps, please refer to
How to Use the 6GHz Band of your Deco Wi-Fi 6E System for Client Devices
Q3. Will the Wi-Fi 6E Deco work with my old Deco system such as Deco M5, Deco X20/X60, Deco X90?
Yes, all Deco models should be able to work together as one network.
However, you wouldn’t be able to use the 6GHz backhaul when Deco XE75 is used with another old Deco model which has no Wi-Fi 6E capability. You can still enable the 6GHz network for clients to connect, the specific setting can be found in the Deco app, make sure your Deco app is up to date.
Q4. Can I use Wi-Fi 6E with my old phone and laptop?
Yes, Wi-Fi 6E Deco products have 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless radio as well. Your old phones and laptops can still connect to the traditional 2.4GHz or 5GHz band.
However, those phones and laptops are not able to use the 6GHz radio of Wi-Fi 6E Deco products because they do not support 6GHz Wi-Fi.
Client devices manufactured before 2020 is not likely to support 6GHz Wi-Fi. Current known 6GHz-capable devices are Intel NIC AX201 and a few versions of the Samsung S21 series.

When XE75(or XE200) Deco units are Wired backhaul and option in app. 6GHz WiFi for : "Wi-Fi Network & Backhaul" is selected, what
happens to wireless backhaul ?
The Full 6GHz band must be available for clients, in such scenario!

Thank you very much for your explaination.Heidi_Alp
Nice to see you again.
Something said by Heidi and I also agreed that
When XE75(or XE200) Deco units are Wired backhaul and option in app. 6GHz WiFi for : "Wi-Fi Network & Backhaul" is selected, "the dedicated 6ghz is more like a backup backhaul when Deco XE75 is wired to each other. It is always there (or idle in other words) and only works when the cable breaks."
And you are right the 6GHz band is available for clients, in such a scenario.
I am not quite sure what you are trying to say by "Full band" since the backhaul 6ghz and wireless 6ghz radio for clients are not the same wireless network if that is what you want to know. The wireless 6ghz radio performance would not suffer if the wireless backhaul is idle.
Best regards.

I don't think it could but I can double-check with the engineers later.
---Update: No, It couldn't and it is suggested to purchase later in the local market.
Many regions have their own standards for 6ghz, not just about radio frequency.
I see other Deco models sold in UAE are all EU versions which made me more concerned it might not work.
Best regards.

is your engineers feedback available ?---The reply has been updated on the previous post.
a)when is XE200 expected in UK market.
I haven't seen any updated news about Deco XE200 yet so far it is not available in any regions and I am afraid it might still need quite a while.
b)Is XE75 available now in UK market,, any shopping URL:\\
It is still coming soon on the local official site and I used to see some large online retailers will mark out the pre-order date, maybe you could have a check on Amazon, Costco, etc.
Best regards.

@TP-Link is there an easy way to change the IP adresses of the XE75 units?
the Deco APP doesn't appear to be able to do this.. also on the webpages isn't there a setting..
also i can't seem to be able to change the "location name" of the units.. the first one is stuck on "Living Room" but the other one is stuck on Deco_9ADB..
and it would be a very nice feature to be able to set a different SSID for the different radio's
for example
2.4ghz radio SSID: Deco_2.4
5ghz radio SSID: Deco_5
6ghz radio SSID: Deco_6
now the 2.4 and 5ghz radio get the same SSID..

Hi, Welcome to the community.
Currently, it is only allowed to change the Lan IP(or IP address of the main Deco), and for the satellite units, they are automatically assigned by the DHCP server.
And please refer to the following picture to change the location name:
As for the SSIDs, the 6G radio could be different but 2.4ghz and 5ghz needs to be the same. And the following link will provide more details.
Does Deco support separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz SSIDs?

Hi,
the IP of the main Deco is also the LAN IP address and it is under Deco APP>More>Advanced>LAN IP.
As for the location name, please have a look at this link: How to change the device name of Deco?
Best regards.
