My internet plan is of 200 Mbps, and my archer c6 gives 200 mbps on 5ghz, but when ethernet is connected it limits to 100 mbps. I have set Internet port negotiation speed to 1000 mbps full duplex, but there is no option to change negotiation speed for LAN ports

Hi,

 

Can you please tell us what types of client devices you have connected to LAN2, LAN3 and LAN4 ?

 

Are you sure those devices support 1000 Mbps?

 

Are the client devices directly connected to the Archer C6 via Cat5e or higher grade Ethernet cables?

Yes my laptop supports Gigabit 1000 mbps full duplex, currently they are 2 laptops and 1 dhcp router, all of which are at 100mbps, no issue of cable, as I checked with multiple cat 5e, 6.

 

Laptop directly connected to wan/model also gives 200 mbps, so no issue from isp side as well

Apparently there is no override option for auto speed negotiation of the Archer C6's LAN ports.

 

But usually network adapter drivers for Microsoft Windows do have an option to set the Ethernet speed from "Auto" to "1.0 Gbps Full Duplex" via the Device Manager.

So you might want to try that on your two laptop computers.

Yes, that is the correct setting.

 

Do you get 1 Gbps (1000 Mbps) connection speed to the Archer C6 now? Or no connection at all?

My package is 200 mbps, I get 200 on 5ghz, but on lan , all laptops, routers get 100mbps

My laptop supports Gigabit and other secondary router is dlink dir 819

What I meant to ask was, if the status screen in Windows is reporting the Ethernet speed as 1.0 Gbps after you have forced the driver to "1.0 Gpbs Full Duplex"?

 

If Windows says "Speed: 1.0 Gbps" in the Ethernet status window, but the Archer C6 still reports "100 Mbps" in the status screen lile you posted in your first message, then I suspect there is something messed up in the configuration data of the C6, because you cannot have 1.0 Gbps on one end and 100 Mbps on the other end.

 

If that was the case I recommend you perform a Factory Defaults Restore on the C6 and then configure it again from scratch. Make sure you note down any important configuration settings beforehand, so that you will be able to configure the router easily.

The D-Link router you mentioned is not a gigabit router:

 

 

It's worth to provide your laptop models too so their specifications can be checked as well.

I had myself similar issues with HP Zbook 15 new narrowed LAN port design (quite similar to yours).

What you can try is to move your HP Omen to another C6 LAN port - for example connect it to LAN1 port or any other LAN port to see if that will make any difference.

Using a different patch cables (CAT 5e/6) also could resolve this issue.

Status screen still shows 100 mbps, and yes I also tried resetting before opening this post

Yes  dlink router isn't gigabit, but my laptop does have gigabit port, its hp omen 15 dc-1093tx
