Firmware Version: 1.0.10 Build 211207 Rel.62804n (8583)

Hi TP-Link,

Feature request to allow us to set 2.4GHz WiFi channel when in the High Speed mode of "Transmit only the 2.4GHz band.".  To avoid non-overlapping 2.4GHz WiFi channel, the channel should be limited to 1, 6, and 11 only. Could you add this feature on next firmware update?

Hello   @chrone

Range extender repeats router's Wi-Fi signal and always synchronize router's channel in Range Extender mode.

You could change Wi-Fi router's Wi-Fi channel to a non-overlapped channel like 1/6/11and reinstall the range extender, RE will use the same channel as router.

I also think this is a good feature request, for all TP-Link extenders with "High Speed" mode.  I see the same issue with my RE215 and was surprised such basic functionality was missing.

In the normal mode, it does indeed synchronize with the main router's band.  But in High Speed mode it does not.  You're just stuck with channel 2, 40mhz.  You should be able to set the channel and channel width, in this case, at a minimum.

In High Speed Mode, it's not trying to extend the same band, so there's really nothing to synchronize to.  It uplinks on 5ghz, and extends on 2.4ghz (or the reverse).
