1. Is the internet connection 100% stable before this firmware update?

Yes as far as I am aware the internet working fine upto the point it stops. Working and suddenly stopped this afternoon. Other times it failed while I was sleeping so not sure

Is updating the AX11000 firmware to 1.3.1 Build 20220721 the only change before and after the internet issue occurs?

Yes, nothing else has changed on the network. I was using an earlier version of FW, then the beta version with VPN client and these worked. I then upgraded to 1.3.1 and the problems started the next mroning.

2. When the internet is not available, what is the LED status on the AX11000, orange or white?

I will climb into the roof to check the next time it happens laugh

3. Will the internet recover if you click the Release then Renew on its web GUI?

I can try this next time. So far I used the tether app Reboot option or the the same option in the web GUI. Nothing else. Did not power cycle the router nor the fiber modem.

4. Your Country and your Internet Provider.

New Zealand and Slingshot

  @Kevin_Z

Thank you for opening this thread, hopefully we'll get the problems solved.

Regarding point 3:

1. What if you refresh the Client list, will those devices disappear?

No, refreshing the router's client list does not make the devices disappear.

2. How about the client devices that connect to the AX11000 directly, are they displaying correctly when they are powered on or off?

Those connected directly to the AX11000 are not a problem, they display correctly.

EDIT:

I'd just like to add that I experienced the "stickiness" problem while using the AX11000 with an RE600X range extender, on latest firmware (dated 2021-11-29).

I've also got an RE505X range extender, so I'll test that in OneMesh, too, at some point, however I much prefer the RE600X, not least because of its excellent range and WPA3 support.

LED on the AX11000 was orange

Yes there was an IP address in the web UI.

The status in web ui above WAN IP was "Poor internet" or words to that effect.

Release/renew restored the internet connection. I have a static IP, so the same IP address was restored.

log attached.

2. Connection Alerts on the Tether APP is no longer available.

------------ Reported by @m1hn3a, and the initial description is as follows:

https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/272492?replyId=1125284

Regarding this issue, we would like to know:

1. What is the Tether APP version, iOS or Android version?

2. What is the Operation Mode of the AX11000? Router or Access Point?

1. Tether APP is on version 3.7.2 (no new version aviable on GooglePlay Store). Pone is a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra with Android and all updates installed. Also I have tried on a tablet (Samsing Tab A7 and is the same).

2. AX11000 is on Router Operation Mode.

3. Also I have issue with WPA3 + WPA2 (AES) - and Smart Connect option this issue was also present on old firmware. When Tablet or Phone is changing band automatically with smart connect, the internet stop working on that device, if I disconnect the device and connect again is working fine. With WPA2 (AES) there is no issue (this mode I use right now).

@m1hn3a

Regarding the Connection Alerts issue, we will update here once it is confirmed by the engineering team, please wait.

Regarding the WPA3/WPA2 + Smart Connect issue, we would like to know more details, please help confirm, thank you:

1. Can we have a screenshot of the wireless security settings on the AX73? You can mask the SSID and password for any security concerns.

2. Does the issue occur on every smart device, such as the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and Samsung Tab A7 tablet? Can I have the Android version?

Hello,

Thank you for your answare.

1. Can we have a screenshot of the wireless security settings on the AX73? You can mask the SSID and password for any security concerns.

Is AX11000 not AX73 :)

Here is current settings that is working fine:

This is settings with issues:

Because on WPA2 is working fine, is not so big issue, but it will be nice to be fixed in next builds, so I can use WPA3 on devices that support it.

2. Does the issue occur on every smart device, such as the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and Samsung Tab A7 tablet? Can I have the Android version?

I noticed on tablet (Samsung Tab A7) and on wife phone (Samsung A72) , I have tested only for a half a day, because I need the network to be functional :). Maybe over weekend I will try to make more tests if I have time. Android version is Android 12 (latest update). On previous firmware I had same issue with Android 12 on Samsung S10 Plus (my old phone). At that time I recived an email from tehnical support with a firmware for collecting logs, I have sent the logs, but nothing was dicovered :). I think that issue is ocured when device is changing band (or WiFi signal is weak). Maybe is a Samsung with Android 12 issue - I don't have any Android/IOS devices to test. I will test with a few Windows laptops.

Thank you

  @m1hn3a

Have you tested with Smart Connect switched off?

I'm asking because I have never heard a good word said about this feature, ever.

Various router manufacturers name it differently, but it is essentially the same across all brands, and always seems to be problematic.
