Hi.

We currently have Archer AX73 and Archer C80 running, each in AP-mode.

Because we still have spots with low connection and further the issue with two different access points, we would like to go for a setup as Mesh system.

I had been able to set AX73 now as Router with OneMesh enabled. I bought in addition RE300 extender and had been able to setup this device as OneMesh device connected to AX73.

Now I would like to include our Archer C80 as "satellite" device to the OneMesh setup from our AX73. As it seems the C80 doesn't support OneMesh at all. But C80 offers EasyMesh, but this seems not to be compatible with OneMesh.

 

Do you have any suggestion about proper setup for our devices in an OneMesh or EasyMesh system?

We have:

Archer AX73

Archer C80

Extender (currently RE300, but can be replaced by a different device)

AccessPoint device from internet provider (without Wifi, just LAN connection)

Good news! 

 

I'm happy to inform you that Archer AX73 V1 also supports EasyMesh now. Please check and update your router firmware to the latest 1.3.5 Build 20230919 version as below:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/download/archer-ax73/v1/#Firmware

 

 

Please be aware that you'll not allowed to downgrade to the previous 1.2.6 official version once upgraded to this one since this version has significant modifications.

I guess there is no way to add them all into the same mesh system at the moment since Archer AX73 doesn't support EasyMesh now, and only with EasyMesh can you connect two routers together via a wireless backhaul. But as you can check from the EasyMesh Compatibility List, Archer AX73 is also PLANNED to support EasyMesh in the future. Once it supports EasyMesh, you can connect the C80 to AX73 via EasyMesh to build a mesh system.

 

At the moment, you can only connect the RE300 to either the AX73 or the C80 to build up a Onemesh network, and wait for the new firmware for Archer AX73 to add the EasyMesh.

  @Kevin_Z : Hi Kevin, it seems that the AX73 had been removed from the list of products for future planning to add EasyMesh.

It seems that for many other routers this planned extension is cancelled.

Is the EasyMesh concept no longer being followed by TP Link?

Could you please verify for the AX73 the future plans?

I have replied to some of our users below, who also have the same impression that AX73 may not support EasyMesh in the future.

I've confirmed with the product team and am informed that AX73 is still planned to support EasyMesh, but they cannot provide a definite timeline. I will inform you once it supports EasyMesh in the future.
