Firmware Version: 1.1.2 Build 20230606 rel.1786(5553)

Hello all,

I just replaced my old Cox router with a TP-link AX75. My speeds top out at around 500mg on wifi while I'm on my laptop and directly next to the router. My desktop on the other hand tops out at 200mg but it's directly above the router on the 2nd floor in a 1200 sq ft house. The wifi adapter I have connected to my desktop is an AX3000 Archer TX3000E. Would this have anything to do with the slowness? Some kind of interference since the router is an AX5400 and my adapter is an AX3000?

I found this video here and I saw someone mention in the comments this fixed their wifi issue; but I don't see QOS in my router advanced settings.

  @ajmadic

Hi, it is normal that the speed reduced when the client device is far away from the router, and even though the desktop is directly above the router on the second floor, usually wireless devices' wireless coverage is smaller in vertical direction.

To check if the wireless speed on the desktop is normal or not, please check the wireless link speed on the desktop:

How to check the associated/link speed on a wireless client

In addition, regarding the QoS settings, the Archer AX75 is kind of different from other models since it supports HomeShield function, please refer to the instruction below to check if it is enabled, if so, try disabling the QoS:

How to configure the HomeShield QoS feature on a TP-Link Router/Deco
