Model: Deco XE75 Pro
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2.3 build 20230810 Rel 35583

Hi all

When the Deco app proposed to upgrade my network (3 Deco xe75 Pro) to the latest firmware 1.2.3 build 20230810 Rel 35583 I said yes but after the reboot, all managed by the app, none of my normal WiFi networks (5, 2.4, IoT) were no longer accessible. Next to that, while sitting 2,5 meters from the Deco XE75 Pro, the network is very weak.

Right after the update none of the WiFi networks were active, so I went into the settings using the Deco app, changed the settings of the WiFi networks and set them back again and then they showed up again.

When devices try to connect to the networks, which were operating like a breeze before, they get a message that the network does not reply or that the password is changed.

I have no idea what to do. They are a week old and it gives me a very bad impression of TP-Link. They should have tested this better. No support line and I am at the point of calling it all off and return them. I payed a fortune because I wanted the best and now it turns out to be false.

Really disappointed.

Roger

  @Rvunen

Hi, Have you tried to factory reset Deco XE75 pro once after the 1.2.3 upgrade?

If you have tried it already, could you please send an email to support.forum@tp-link.com (please add the forum ID-621524)with the following details:

1. Can I have a picture of the signal source settings on the satellite Deco XE75 pro, such as:

2. Would the mobile devices be able to connect to the IOT network, if you temporarily changed the IOT network into non-security?

3. Are you able to stably reproduce this issue"When devices try to connect to the networks, they get a message that the network does not reply or that the password is changed", most of the time?

4. Is there any connection problem on the Ethernet connection from Deco?

Thank you very much and best regards.

  @David-TP

Hi David

Yes i did yesterday evening after hearing nothing anymore from support. Just now I received an invitation for a conference call but now it is too late.

What I found out reinstalling my environment was that the new firmware was not excepting the Sid and passwords I used before and were accepted by the previous firmware. Apperently there is a thighter ruling on them. Changing afterwards the SIDs and passwords didn't made things better anymore so a full reset was required. What was interesting is that my IoT network was down too, which was as clean as it can be on naming and password. My SID are 32 long and the passwords 63.

I never had WiFi issues on the old firmware.

It should have been nice if some kind of message was given to me before or after installing the firmware that the SID and passwords were incorrect and should be corrected before or after applying the firmware. Or just a message that when I apply the firmware I need to reset the units due to the SID names and passwords.

Hope it helps others and I would have appreciated it if the meeting with support was scheduled yesterday so I wouldn't have to spend so much time without any internet connection.

There was one Dutch guy at support that right away started to say I did something wrong in the setup which was completely not related. Just blaming and no help at all.

  @Rvunen

Hi, welcome to the community.

Were you having any issues with the Ethernet connection from Deco XE75 Pro?

Are you able to reproduce this issue most of the time?

"When devices try to connect to the networks, they get a message that the network does not reply or that the password is changed."

Would it help, if you temporarily changed the IOT network into non-security?

Thank you very much and wait for your reply.

Best regards.

Hi  @Rvunen,

I have the XE75 Pro V2 also, however the Deco app shows the latest version as "1.2.2 Build 20230601 Rel. 66771"

Not sure if it is just a delay for me to receive the update or maybe an incorrect update sent to your device.  Last time I checked 1.2.3 was only available for the V1 variant.

  @BenGinders

Hi, Nice to see you again. 1.2.3 for Deco XE75 Pro V2  is in the release process, and some users might be able to receive the firmware notification on the Deco APP during this time.

Best regards.

Hi  @David-TP,

I also checked on the Web portal tplinkdeco.net (192.168.68.1) which also didn't show an update.

Further I checked the support downloads page and the latest version shows what I have.

I will keep checking and let you know if I get the same issues as the OP once installed.

Hi thanks Support asked me to physically change two units which I did and make the other one the main. Everything that happened in the beginning, meaning none of the WiFi networks show up, happened again. Only the 6E WiFi for backbone and clients supporting this WiFi level can connect.

Hi Same for me. After doing a network check in the app it said the new firmware was available and I should upgrade. I did with this as result 😒 So be careful. You could break your network if you upgrade. Regards

  @David-TP Are there any release notes for this new firmware? There does not seem to be any information on the UK website about any firmware for the XE75 Pro V2: https://www.tp-link.com/uk/support/download/deco-xe75-pro/
